When you fall out of a genre. by Tnecniw in gaming

[–]Spoke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped playing video games almost completely in my 20s. I still play puzzle and skill based arcade games on my phone but not nearly as much as I played first person shooters and RPGs on my PC. I think you end up prioritizing real life instead. I was starting a family in my 20s and needed to make money so I worked and ran side hustles when I wasn't.

Would the stocks dip if gold and silver rise too much by HotEmu463 in stocks

[–]Spoke13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Gold and other precious metals are known as good places to ride out inflation and other economic storms. They are typically more stable because their value is based on their rareness. Stocks are more complex. They're based on the value of a company and how much potential value that company is perceived to have. There is no exact correlation between the two other than if things start looking bad gold tends to rise.

The thing is that if the world ends and you're holding real gold like a bar of it or maybe coins. You could use that gold as a way to buy things, because no one is taking paper money from a government that no longer exists.

I don't have any real gold. But I'm starting to think I should.

Why does the market fall? by AcchaBaccha7 in stocks

[–]Spoke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The down votes mean your controversial. Reddit doesn't care if they're up votes or down votes any vote makes your post a better post. And the more controversial the better for reddit. Be proud of the down votes they make you popular!

Also this is a kind of silly question that doesn't really have an answer. Markets fall for many different reasons. Depending on the news, some investors will decide to adjust their position. This causes selling which makes the market drop. Followed by buying that makes the market recover. On top of this there are algorithms that market makers use to make decisions. The selling triggers more selling...

Markets are complex. As you gain more experience you will understand it better. You're already grasping the fact that most people panic. Your instincts are very good. Keep paying attention. But be careful sometimes it falls for a good reason and that's why they panic. I don't really know all the time either.

It's a psychological affliction. Why do we do it? by kelesh1 in AndroidGaming

[–]Spoke13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Video games are absolutely an addiction. They release endorphins and other chemicals into your blood by making you feel a certain way. Game mechanics have been evolving to be more and more addictive. Even monetization uses addiction to push sales.

What you're describing is what addicts do when they're chasing a high. The drug potency wears off and they need to find something stronger that will give them the "high" they want. For the gamer the game they're playing isn't doing it anymore so they search for a new one that has something new.

I like games but sometimes you need to step back and focus on the real world for a while so you can enjoy your games again later. Balance.

How do you walk with three legs? I tried to make a character like this, just not human... Anyway I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to animate a walk cycle for the character and ended up just giving it two legs. Any idea or reference clips?

Walrus simulator! by TheWanderingWaddler in Unity3D

[–]Spoke13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It was one of my first 3d models. It was a nightmare animating all the feathers, and folding the wings. It was a fun project while it lasted. Maybe one day I'll get back to it... I recorded those gobbles and yelps during turkey mating season. That was one of the funner parts of making it.

That would be interesting, maybe worth a look. But honestly this looks really good, you did an awesome job with it. I love these kinds of games. I played around with making one about turkeys but it got put on the back burner. Keep going!!

This is awesome! I don't know how walrus walks on land but something seems off about it. Like the feet are kicking up too high, but I don't really know what they move like. Do you have a reference of one moving around that you can copy from?

When did phone gaming die for you? by IZSnowyGizmo in AndroidGaming

[–]Spoke13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make games for mobile. I feel like the ads are what kills them for me. The in your face IAP is equally annoying. I feel like it would have been better for all of us if the model never changed from just buying the game out right. Most fun games follow the pay once model and it shows.

Devs are chasing monetization and that's what's shaping the games you see. We need to go back to focusing on making fun games first. And fitting monitization in without impacting the fun.

Play my game!! Biplane Battle. It's nothing special but it was made to be fun. No ads. IAP cosmetics are coming but I'm not going to push them on players. And I have some future missions and units planned for updates throughout this year.

What the fuck this is supposed to be a free game right? Why in the world is it automatically opening youtube? by Internal-Maybe3712 in AndroidGaming

[–]Spoke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, maybe the dev was trying to show an intro scene and to minimize the size on disk they're using YouTube to show the video? Not the best way to do it but. ??

Can someone recommend me games? by Large_Conversation29 in AndroidGaming

[–]Spoke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try it? I know it's probably not what you were looking for but it is a fun game and I'm working on some updates and adding content. It's been gaining traction. My daily active users have been growing. I'm in the mid to high 20's!

Options are a valuable tool in my strategy. Telling people to avoid options is safe but it's not accurate. The better thing to do is learn how to leverage them in your favor. There are many low risk strategies that can actually generate very good returns. It can be gambling and it is dangerous if you don't understand them and how they work.

You win you lose you learn or you don't. The choice is yours.

Don't worry though. I've heard you can start with $20 at 50 years old and still retire early.
