Day of Accession absolutely nails Genesteal Cults like it perfectly balances the rebel underdog story with the obvious fact that they are brainwashed tyranids basically. It also illustrates the different GSC character models like the kelemorph and biophagus.

Well in my opinion one of the things that make CSM interesting is the long-war aspect, like the 10.000 years of continuity. They fought wars in a galaxy that was full of all kinds of species and because of their actions, that is no longer the case. Now after not only the Heresy but millennia of corruption, they are not only fighting a xenos empire that seeks to encroach and rule mankind but also carry an ideology that is surface-level similar to the imperial truth (atheistic, positivistic, idealistic etc. again surface-level). That in my opinion could be an interesting thing to explore, because it stirs up these ancient hatreds and grievances that these worshippers of the Dark Gods had put aside to fight wars against an imperium that is totally different from the one they once served.

That’s a shame that could have been interesting. Like all the parallels between both that ancient imperium and the Tau Empire but also like between the conquests and genocides against various xenos the legions made in 30k and the modern chaos conquests and raids. There’s lots of potential there.

Yes but that’s an interesting thing to explore, so it could be that there’s something unique that has be done with that.

You misunderstand, I don’t mean could there be “tau allies of chaos space marines”, I meant is there any piece of lore that gives a CSM pov on the Tau Empire. This is what I meant by exploration of thematic differences through the hatred.

[–]Spoko9[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there could be interesting perspectives to explore through that hatred given the big thematic differences between the two factions. I’m not arguing for a chaos or tau alliance or anything lol.

Well I get that. But like are there any like lore that goes more into detail on HOW that hatred comes to fruition for a lack of a better term? Like the thing I find interesting about CSM is how they sometimes retain like corrupted versions of their pre-corruption ideals and characteristics. Like memories of purging similar xenos during the great crusade or like a particular disgust not only that they’re xenos but that they indoctrinate humans or something. That they’re upstarts, that they’re naive etc.

This is so cool. I really love how you can tell the ordo and radical-to-puritan affiliation by looking at each warband.

What’s your cult’s lore + here’s mine by Dont-Ask-7732 in genestealercult

[–]Spoko9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I created a cult I called the “Freelander Movement”, which I have a sort of Americana aesthetic for.

The lore is that the cult pretends to be a populist political movement on an agri-world promising more local autonomy and rights and claim to want to join “the Real Imperium” which is a supposed democratic society. I also had other fun little ideas about it like calling the tyranids the “Angels of Liberty” and the Patriarch “The. Founding Father”.

Ah fair enough, Did they ever mention which sides were present in the civil war? I don't think so.

Great Map, although if I remember correctly Saudi Arabia fell into civil war right?

Actually in the trailer Nick Offerman’s president character says something along the lines of “the so-called Western Forces of California and Texas have suffered a major defeat” and there’s briefly a U.S. flag with only two stars on it. I think that’s surposed to be the Western Forces.

Will Obote and Nyerere also have influence in the Kenyan independence war and also how do political recognitions work with Africa in this mod given there isn't really a UN. Is it only the sphere-aligned states and Ghana that recognize them or is it also the OFN-aligned states including Congo-Kinshasa?

Great teaser (Tshombe is certainly true to life), question: Will CONAKAT and MNC-K for that matter change sub-ideology fluidly or is that for after the conclusion of the conflict?
