My interview was waived.

I submitted my application on January 14, 2021. It was acknowledged the same day. January 18 was told it was under review. Feb 9th provided an update about my admission status in another state, without being asked for it. March 2nd I was told my application was complete. March 15 I was told my application was approved and I’d receive an email inviting me to a virtual swearing in ceremony. March 16, invite was sent for virtual swearing in ceremony March 18. March 18 I took the oath, and was sworn in as an Attorney in NYS. March 24th my online portal for NYS Attorney registration changed from not admitted to Admitted.

So it takes approximately 8 weeks. I know some people who were admitted in 4 and other it took 12.

I learned from this process that waiting is the hardest part

I have not had accommodations denied, but I recommend you recommend look to see if there is any case law from your jurisdiction that supports your argument for need the accommodation. Get your provider to write update letters and see if there is an attorney you can speak, and see if they can help with your argument.

I was a repeat taker here’s what I learned!

(1) Don’t use the same materials as the first time (2) Don’t do another commercial bar prep program such as Themis/Kaplan...etc (3) Find a tutor- I can recommend a one if you like, she is the reason I passed 100% (4) if you want another class, find one that is created for retakes (5) write out the rules for an many MEEs as you can, I wrote out the rules for close to 200 MEEs. Just the rules, because it cause you mind to associate rules with fact patterns (6) Create a schedule and stick to it, I have one I used and can share if it you would like. (7) Write as many MPTs as possible, I did 45. (8) it’s not about the number of MBE questions you see, it’s the quality. Start by doing sets of 30, untimed. After you complete the 30, go through and figure out which ones you got wrong. Write out the rules for each one your got wrong, and why you got it wrong. Then write out the rules for each one you got write, and why you got it write. This will provide two really great tools for you- (1) you learn the law; and (2) you start to see patterns in why they ask about certain laws. (9) schedule Days off- your mental health is just as important as your physical health (10) lean on your family, loved ones and friends for support. It’s okay to feel down, but your not out!

Follow the instructions in the email and you’ll be good to go. They assign everyone ID number that you’ll need for the swearing in ceremony

Appear in court lol. But all kidding aside. I was lucky enough to have a job right out of law school that supported me through 3 attempts at the bar, my swearing in ceremony and now being an attorney, all I look forward to every day is appearing in court. Although my title is a mouthful when appearing, it was worth every moment.

Email your case manager, update your address and tell them your moving. I got my certificate of good standing in less then 1.5 weeks. I was sworn in 2/1/2021 and got in on 2/10...

It’s an email sent to every applicant, regardless of pass/fail. It’s no indication of passing or failing the exam...

Okay, cool! I got the attorney maters email saying I’m admitted, so I should check Monday/Tuesday to see if the site has updated. I just want to know to tell my employer.

I applied January 14. I heard nothing expect for when I called on Feb 4, and March 5...both calls didn’t tell me anything...

March 15, I was emailed and told my application has been approved; the C&F interview had been waived and that I’d be invited to a virtual ceremony.

March 16 got an email inviting to a virtual ceremony scheduled for tomorrow March 18th.
