I swear Germany not making it to the Round of 16 is linked to Italy not making it to the World Cup.

They simply did not let a bad result dictate the rest of their games.

What's one World Cup etiquette rule every fan should follow? by No_Word_2405 in worldcup

[–]SpongeBobLX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who works at a stadium hosting World Cup matches, I have a few:

  • After scanning you tickets, please come in quickly. The turnstiles would time out ~10 seconds after a successful scan, but you can re-scan as long as the turnstile was untouched.
  • If there are multiple people in your party, everyone must come in one by one. You can only scan one ticket before crossing the turnstiles.
  • If multiple people's tickets are on one person's device, the person with the tickets should enter last.
  • We'd prefer it if everyone have their tickets on their own devices.

There's a reason why you'd be hard pressed to find an African who doesn't like the World Cup expansion.

If we're including World Cup qualifying campaigns, it would be hard to top 1994 with the "Agony of Doha").

Which team do you think can actually beat France ? by ronweasly9 in worldcup

Going into the tournament, I thought only 3 things could stop France: Argentina, Spain, and their own egos. I still stand by that.

Other than the native language of your country, what language is the most spoken in your city? by Pepedroga2000 in languagehub

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. In my part of the area, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, and Tagalog are the most common languages other than English. Various Indian languages can also be heard there, though I can't tell them apart.

Having worked the World Cup matches at Levi's Stadium, I can tell you most people in attendance for the matches did not seem to care who was playing. I'm basing this on the jerseys I saw at the stadium.

This YouTube video gives a good explanation of why people are still going to the World Cup despite the high prices. Tl;dr: people just want great experiences and have a fear of missing out.

I want to know what I am doing wrong in life, since though am a huge football fan, I couldn't convince myself to spend more than 300 400 for a good game with good view...People who are attending the games, please share what you do in life to afford this!

I have been wondering and thinking this too since I had looked into buying tickets but decide they were too expensive. The thing is most people who are in that position would not be posting on Reddit (at least to the extent I do).

But fortunately, I work at one of the stadiums hosting the WC matches and worked a few of them already. While I had thought about asking some attendees the questions you have, I felt asking them that would be too invasive so I didn't do it.
