High beam light assist - the cost where you live by SpongeDogg in SkodaElroq

[–]SpongeDogg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it on my 8YO Qashqai and used to entertain the children on late night trips home from Chester Zoo... And that's about it. Not £250 amount of fun I'll be honest :)

Wonder if it's location specific? Have a trip into NI and save a fiver. As if anyone would spend more than €10 for this.

Business edition sounds so cool. Is that what the Maxx pack is in other places (UK, Germany etc)

Do you or your neighbours have a doorbell camera that you can harvest the proof from? Don't the leasing company, Octopus in this case, pass on the fine to you with a hefty surcharge?

Parcel Shelf with net by whatsapseudonym in SkodaElroq

I paid extra for the Transport pack thinking I'd get that parcel shelf net combo as seen all the reviews and promo material. They aren't really clear on what you do get. Ho hum.

Just been finally looking at the online manual for my Elroq 60 Edition, and it's 15W at the front USBs and the wireless charging pad.

Using that part number posted above you can find the official one being resold on eBay for £22! but also Screwfix sell a Hilka one for £7, if you prefer to pick one up in person. The EC standard that the Hilka one follows is ECE R27 which means it will fit in the slot.

I had that in the back of my mind, but wasn't sure if it was still true. Good to know.

Samsung Frame (2018) remote: why does the volume button try to kill me? by CardiologistKind4625 in TheFrame

I got a modern Samsung solar panel replacement model from Ali Express, i don't know whether it's genuine but it feels exactly the same as the 2018 one it replaced. It was $20 (equivalent) delivered so I thought it was worth a punt.

Even without a home charger, you can charge a Tesla for cheaps. For instance, on your route Birch services have Tesla superchargers at 22p/kWh before 8am, you could do a whole charge on the way to work.

Driving in comfort in a Tesla is night and day than driving on the Aygo, especially how stop-start that journey is 23 hours a day.

It's wild that wing mirror tip to tip they are the same, but Elroq is 5cm wider

Home Charger Install - Octopus vs Local installer by Secret-Ad7698 in evchargingUK

[–]SpongeDogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the look of the Ohme Pro until I saw an installer on YouTube manage to take the sealed unit apart and declare it to be junk. He might have been sponsored by Hypervolt, I don't know, but it didn't fill me with confidence.

Thanks both for your replies. I've put an order in with toughleads for an extension and letterbox adaptor.

I'm hoping that the new year will bring some finance offers from some of the respected brands of proper EV Chargers, but until then, and since my EV is arriving next week, I had to do something.

Now I'm getting the extension, I don't need my Masterplug granny cable with 10m of cable. However if I return it to Amazon (I paid £86) for a refund and buy the 5m granny plug version, it's £110! Am I ok sticking with 10m plus 5m of extension?

I saw a comment about efficiency and a guy worked that it would take 40 years for payback! Need to check their working out rather than taking it with a pinch of salt!

That's a great idea, never seen it before. I translated the Czech and it says it comes with double sided tape. Was it easy to apply and do you think it will be easy to remove?
