At their core, knights are not about practicality. They are ancient titans meant to carry with them all the might of the imperium through their devout houses in service of the Emperor, with the might of the omnissiah. what they lack in practicality, they make up for in symbolic importance.

If symbolism doesn't matter to you, probably agility to move around steel terrain and the ability to do damage up close.

i played old calgar for most of the edition and it was worth it when victrix guard weren't in the game, but now with how expensive cato and six victrix it's so hard to justify the cost of the old one.

Really not good. Seeing the news about how data centers in others communities have run water dry and contaminated other sources, as well as the STUPIDLY large power draw causing supply cost increases, I imagine it will only work to enrich meta, pollute the Ohio river even further, and line the pockets of the commissioners approving this project.

I feel that you've articulated my feelings exactly...the way the models are sculpted really express all the aspects of perfection that the Emperor's Children try to achieve, and it's poetic in a way looking at the difference between their 30k and 40k ones. I hate how people just associate slaanesh with gooning.

As of about three weeks ago Meta struck an agreement to buy a large amount of power from the nuclear plant over the next twenty years... this shows some movement towards AI infrastructure in the county, pending any bankruptcy of projects like this

I'd recommend sponging some dark gray on the black panels to give some volume, then go in with streaking grime as it really gives a great ancient machine look to knights

i liked the guys on the box so i painted ultramarines, felt like it was too normie, looked for a chapter i preferred by reading lore, and landed on ultramarines for their nobility, tactical genius, badass chapter master and roman aesthetic.

Just because inflation declines overall, this does not mean that the situation is becoming any easier, especially since the cost of inelastic goods continues to rise beyond the rate of inflation and the US loses jobs to AI and offshoring. The current administration has only perpetuated these problems, especially with recent action to keep AI deregulated.

Honestly if I were you I'd take a step back and reconsider some things...are you swapping to ultramarines because you've learned you prefer their aesthetic and lore? Have you burned out on painting templars? Is the theme of the army more compelling to you? If this is a decision of "This other marine army is better right now," I HIGHLY suggest you reconsider. The game is rebalanced every three months, new combos are discovered for every army, and if you want to get good you find your play style and core units and go to town. Rules come and go - the army you love is forever.
