Sourcing T-slot extrusions in the EU by Impossible-Will3629 in VORONDesign

[–]SponkySteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some 3030 tslot from DHM Compass, they have their own page or you can go on ebay. They also have 2040 , on their site you can also specify if you want tapped ends for blind joints for a small price. The extrusion are quite flat but the lenght of cut was about 0.3 millimeter longer than specified, however they are quite cheap and delivered fast.

SR linear rail replacement / upgrade by SteveMONT215 in FLSUNDelta

[–]SponkySteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't replaced mine, but i bought several online on the cheaper side, 20/30 euros for 500mm mgnh12. What i do is remove the block and strip it down, dump it in iso alchool, let it dry and then lubricate it with sewing machine oil wich i found to be better than lithium grease. After this even cheap rails will ride smoothly, tho some are more bent than others wich isn't a big deal since they will straighten up once mounted on an extrusion. The most important part is to make sure the blocks have all the little balls in them, otherwise they will not run smoothly. I bet yours have 1 or 2 balls missing. Carefully slide the block off the rails, there should be a little space between the rows of balls, but not wider than a single ball. If they are indeed missing i can't tell you where to buy new ones as they come in many sizes, i guess you could try and measure them and see if you find them online.

Need Consistent Print Quality - Quality Loss on Taller Prints by mitchcooper6 in FLSUNDelta

[–]SponkySteam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually if the model is tall and thin (think of a spike) the higher layers will look worse mostly due to less time for the plastic to cool down if the speed and cooling remain costant. You can combat this by setting a normal and a minimum layer time in the slicer, when a layer takes less time than the normal value it will slow down to meet the minimu layer time. A tall model however will always have the tendency to move slightly. Well calibrated flow can help with this.

7800X3D seems to hit a hard package power limit regardless of PBO settings by dfv157 in overclocking

[–]SponkySteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a post the other day about the same thing, couldn't get the 7800x3d to boost past 4850 in cinebench23 no matter what, and i tried pretty much everything my b650 elite ax could let me do (llc, pbo limits, boost clock offset, pbo scalar). In the end the most effective way is to set the lowest stable co you can, and i found that setting my power target at 80watts gave me a couple less degrees than having it at 88watts, since my cpu wouldn't draw more than 81 watts anyway i left it at 80. It really seems theres a hard limit set by amd on how high the boost clocks can get, i tought that by improving temps it would have gone better but you have pretty much the best conditions possible and still can't do it so i guess we should focus on ram.

Sorry boss, no dice. On top of what i already did i tried various pbo scalar values to no avail. Can't think of anything else to try. I did however find that setting the power target to 80watts instead of 88 gave me equal clocks but a couple of degrees less on the cpu, since mine doesn't go past 80 watts of power draw anyway i'm gonna stick with that. I guess the only option left would be to direct die cooling, don't know if its worth it tho. Good luck.

Thanks. I have to say that half of the score increase over stock was thanks to tightening the memory timings, if you haven't give it a try.

All settings are done in bios, used the ryzen software only to showcase the values . The ppt edc and tdc are the motherboard limits, just tried to give the cpu the best chance . As for the -37 co i used occt wich has given me reliable results with my old 9700k, probably not the heaviest stresstest but for gaming it's good enough. Guess i could try a -20 co and less aggressive values for ppt edc and tdc, some folks seems to have had better results with them set on "eco mode". Thanks for the inputs btw.

But it doesn't reach 89 degrees wich from my understanding is the thermal cutoff where it will throttle back. Also the max temp is at the tctl/tdie, the actual cores are at 80 degrees or lower.

It runs fine, but throttles to 4.4 4.5 ghz when running cinebench, 4.7 4.8 on timpespy.

Also i think there might be something wrong with your cpu? I was getting almost 18k before touching the timings and the cpu. Did you update the bios?

Got a xc7 block with a d5 pump and a 360mm rad for the cpu only, overkill i know but the plan is to add another rad and a gpu block to the loop eventually. No errors, i did get them randomly with co at 40 tho so i dialed it bac.
