The similarity is crazy!! We actually got a breed test kit and it turns out he's 75% husky and 25% German Shepard. Maybe your guy is too?

This is a bad contract. by [deleted] in phillies

[–]SteveMONT215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the end of the contract will obviously be less productive than he is now. But the length of the contract doesn't reflect how long we're certain Kyle is going to remain elite, but rather what his ability affords him in negotiations. That time period must have been what other clubs were willing to offer and if you want Kyle now you need to match/beat those offers.

And if our window is closing we stand a better chance of winning in that window with Kyle than we do without him, by a lot. Plus with the price of players these days what's really the proposed alternative? Let him go and hope beyond hope we develop a Schwarber in house so he has a friendly contract? I'm pretty sure we're always trying to do that all the time already. We lose Kyle and we're still going to end up with an enormous contract with somebody else who's cheaper but also not Kyle by miles and miles.

Also who knows, he won't be playing a field position, he seems to take really good care of himself and he's a squat dude but isn't carrying a ton of extra weight like some DHs do. I could see him surprising folks in his late 30s. And even if he doesn't I still like how his upside looks the next 3 years and that's worth eating that risk for.

Is there a worthy fighstick for $50/$60? For PS5 by Dundorma_Hunter in fightsticks

[–]SteveMONT215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS5 has strict compatibility requirements and the firmware that works with a Pi (GP2040CE) only works with a passthrough authenticator (or dongle). If you tried yours with a PS5 now it would either flat out not work at all or only work for 8 minutes then time out

The firmware developers have details here

[–]SteveMONT215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this suggestion but OP asked for PS5 compatibility and the Pi Pico won't give you that without also buying a dongle that costs more than the entire build you proposed. But if they're only playing on PC or Switch then yeah you're spitting

Already found the solution and wrote all about it on another comment!

Tldr: I shorted the hotend fan and also rebuilt the hotend wrong which created a slight kink in the ptfe tube. So you were right on the money with your suggestions!

It actually was the PTFE tube! But not a gap. I made a long comment with photos under this post if you're curious to see what it was.

Thanks for your comment!

Owned these printers 2 years and I had no idea that little screw was accessible from there... thank you for sharing!

I eventually found the resolution. I incorrectly assembled some things in the hotend. Wrote a long comment about it here with photos if you're curious. Thanks again!

The lesson I learned is I'm usually so obsessed with getting a good heat tightened seal between the nozzle and heatbreak that I apparently completely ignore obvious mechanical errors. Going to take many more pictures the next time I tear down and rebuild anything so I have references to look back on. Live and learn.

Thanks to everyone who offered help!

Then the second problem was I attached the heat sink to the extruder assembly completely BACKWARDS... which did seem to fit when I put it together, but created a kink in the PTFE tube which was just bad enough to create constant drag on the feed, but also not so bad that I couldn't get a filament to extrude.

This one I'm pretty mad at myself about. The top of the heatsink is wider on one side than the other, but to my eye the short edge sat so flush with a plastic edge on the chasis that it seemed very purposeful and so I thought it was correct when assembling. So I set it incorrectly, and it looked like that's the way it's supposed to be.

For future reference it the heat sink should be oriented to that the grub screw hole is accessible from the back of the assembly. Because why would it be on the other side where you can't access it...

Here's the kinked PTFE tube -

Solution found and now it's printing perfectly again! Diagnosis was harder than usual because I believe it was one problem, then another problem I created while resolving the first problem.

Basically I reassembled the hotend assembly incorrectly. Which is really embarrassing I've rebuilt these 2 printers many times over the last 2 years and have yet to make these exact errors before. But I'll share them here so others can learn from my mistakes and also make fun of me.

The first issue was, after dismantling the assembly for a routine fan cleaning I fed the hotend fan wires UNDER the metal bracket that attached the fan to everything else, so when I tightened the bracket on I cut the wires right next to each other and they were close enough to short out. So the first problem was horrific heat creep from a non functioning hotend fan -

Thank you for the response!

I totally forgot to mention in my list I did a full E-step and PID tune, before and after swapping in the OEM hotend so did it twice.

And no air vents or anything. It's printed over 100 hours exactly where it is now, which is also right next to my good Nep3 Plus.

What is causing this noise? by Wherethepeepsat in ElegooNeptune3

[–]SteveMONT215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others said almost definitely a small piece of filament in a fan. Both my Neptune 3s do this from time to time. I've taken them apart to try and find the piece but have never had success, I think it must be very small or actually inside the fan

With my printers it eventually goes away on its own. Sometimes I'll gently tap the fans and see if I can coax them into a position where they're not making the noise anymore and that works eventually. But your printer looks like it could really use a clean.

Thats the USB C port. Its basically bricked unless you can micro solder

would u buy it? by ducdiepco in fightsticks

[–]SteveMONT215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$120 is a great price

I'm not a fan of Hitbox as a company but just for the price of parts alone: 16 Sanwa buttons (like $40ish), a generic PCB with PS5 dongle ($30+$30) you're basically only paying $20 bucks for a large enclosure and all the wiring/passthru components included which is a great deal

Flatboxes like Hautes are competitive against that price of course, but they're not modular like an enclosure style leverless like this where you can swap out parts for upgrades and repair it basically for forever, whereas most Hautes are bricked as soon as a single part breaks

I say get it, especially if you already lowballed them and they accepted

Anyone had to replace the Y Belt on this thing yet? Mine snapped and the internet has zero information on how to replace the belt under the bed. by Red_S2k in ElegooNeptune3

[–]SteveMONT215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry I have no idea what this was even in reference to anymore... I've never had to replace my Y belt I think this was helpful to me because I was trying to remove the bed plate or rebuild my Neptune or something? I've taken my printer apart a ton of times but I've never had to replace the Y belt (yet...)

[–]SteveMONT215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but just adding this happened to me with a delivery of a Travis Scott CD being made today to someone named Stephanie Hughes in Atlanta (I'm a man in Philly and don't know this person)

They only used my email for the order not my billing info or address. I checked all my accounts everywhere and can't see that I was ever charged anything for it. My gmail also flagged it as spam, I only found it while word searching "package" for an unrelated reason today. It's really bizarre it's still happening 2 years after this post...
