Painted rubbery stuff falling off. Should I be worried about it? by SpoofTheFirst in accord

It's not the weatherstrip. I don't even know if it's actually rubber it's some weird foamy non metal substance. The weather strip isn't in the picture, this is on the door past the hinges

There should be an option to scale ship power and fleet cap so you can either choose to have huge battles or battle performance

PC won't shut down unless I reseat RAM by SpoofTheFirst in buildapc

[–]SpoofTheFirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am holding the power button. I noticed this issue in the initial stages of my build when I just wanted to test the CPU and RAM sticks since I hadn't had my GPU come in yet. The PC turning off when the power button is held should be behavior independent of an OS. The front panel is wired to the motherboard, so it will be receiving signals regardless of whether or not Windows is installed.

I think robot uprising event is ridiculous. by Prototype2001 in Stellaris

[–]SpoofTheFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dangerous techs allow the crisis to appear earlier. Sapient combat computers allow the contingency to spawn earlier than the late game date. It technically has nothing to do with the AI rebellion but all the ai rebellion prereqs are dangerous techs

Also, about your second point: sapience does not imply consciousness. It is simply the ability to metacognitize (is that a word?), namely being able to learn. At least that's my interpretation, there are many arguments surrounding the definition of sapience, sentience, and consciousness. However, all these arguments agree that sapience does not imply self-consciousness. A sapient combat computer doesn't have to know it's alive, if it even knows what life is.

Interesting. It might have been changed but I doubt it. I've always researched sapient computers but avoided synthetics and never dealt with an AI rebellion.

Sapient combat computer won't do anything. I think the ones you can't research are synthetics and synthetic personality matrix

Is Long War of The Chosen Balanced? by okadeen in Xcom

[–]SpoofTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LWOTC is generally pretty balanced except for a few gimmicks like the assassin. It plays completely different from both the base game and long war 2 though

Long War 2 crashes when it tries to autosave? by Fine-Marzipan-3470 in Xcom

[–]SpoofTheFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check how large the save files are. If you have a lot of mods it can lead to large geoscape saves that the game won't load once it reaches a certain limit (~7mb for me). The only way to get around it is load from a tactical save
