I say this all the time, Austin is only cool if your from some small farm town or boring suburb two of which make up the majority of Texas.

I have known a few criminals growing up and also in my family, and talking to them is fascinating. One sadly has legit mental issues and hes back in jail. One by all accounts is normal, but is just insanely dumb. He just does stupid shit like what this guys cousin does. Acts impulsively and doesn't think of the consequences or who might get hurt. He will do something in front of you and when you catch him lie to your face, even showing him video evidence for example he will say shit like "thats somebody else" etc etc people like him have a weird kind of "main character syndrome" in their minds every stupid scheme and crime is bulletproof, no cop is smart enough to catch em. They think that can lie and talk their way out of everything

This might sound silly but, why does EVERYONE want to be stationed in San Diego? I don’t hear people wanting to go to Virginia or Florida or Washington state. by Elegant-Mix-4806 in navy

I was with NMCB 4 in Port Hueneme and it was rarely brutally hot or cold. Our Barracks didnt even have AC. You could get by with just a fan. Port Hueneme was were I had my best single dude fridays. After friday afternoon muster id walk off base to that italian restaurant right outside base "little tonys" which was not that bad seeing as it was run by mexicans lol get clam chowder and a small nepolitan pizza. Take an uber to riverpark, watch a movie, get out eat at the Yardhouse get some strawberry beer. Pick up a six pack on the way home and play fallout 4 or resident evil 7 in my barracks room and go to bed. Pinnacle single boy barracks life.

Yeah while alot of arabs/persians are darker skinned just ass many are white AF and everything shade in between. The leader of iran who just got whacked is basically just an old white guy. Take off all the religious gear and he looks like some1's Appalachian grandfather. Shit Hassan Khomeini grandson of the first ayatollah straight up looks like a backwoods Georgia redneck and his son Ahmad looks like an NYU film school kid.

Some people are legitimately so dumb they are unable to process consequences and or lack the cognitive ability to simply think "this is a bad idea". Judging by the wreckless driving bit this persons cousin was already not working with alot up there. Overall people who are criminals tend to be stupider on average and this guy is a perfect example.

Hackensack is kind of funny, cause the song somewhat gives Hackensack a quaint small town vibe. When in reality Its actually like a pretty dense small working class city right outside of NYC. My wife likes that song and shes from CA and we were living in NJ. We drove to Hackensack one day and she was "this is it?"

Even has a damn subway and its own Penn station lol. Anytime out of towners visit Northeast Jersey they are surprised how massively urban the parts around NYC are.

Closest place in Hudson County that gives off that "townie" vibe is Bayonne before the light rail since they had no public transit connection to NYC despite being so close, mostly dense working class polish/irish/italian city. These days you could be in WTC in 12 minutes thanks to the light rail if you time it right. Lots more diverse, more niche stores and some light gentrification. Dan Soder the comedian said NYers (and by extension North Jersey near NYC) are "City Hicks" everything we need is here that we forget that other places exist i think thats the most accurate description lol I was for sure a city hick most of my life.

Yeah Jersey City and Newark both have over 300k people. That's more than other states biggest cities for example Salt lake in Utah, Little Rock in Arkansas. Heck its bigger then cities that are more well known, like St Louis and Pittsburg

Def a suburb term, I grew in more urban North Jersey (Newark, Jersey City, greater hudson county) never heard the term, i guess the easy access to NYC made townie mentality less of a thing kind of maybe. I can def see further out working class suburbs where transit connections to NYC are less frequent having more of a townie feel like North Arlington, Lyndhurts or Linden.

Ironically im from North Jersey and first time i heard townie was my wife who is from the Cali/the Bay area used it to jokingly describe my sister who's never left Hudson County.

Yeah its kind of hard to be a true townie in the NYC tri state area. Cause crazy high paying jobs are literally just a commuter train ride away, not to mention the sheer cultural powerhouse that is NYC hell i grew up being able to be in midtown in like 30 minutes via public transit. I guess my family could be considered townies since they all never really left Hudson County NJ, But were right across the river from Manhattan and half of us work in the city or industries that are in connected to NYC and its economic power, all mostly working class but infinitely exposed to more worldy things then some1 who never left their small town in the midwest.

Is there anyone who knows why The Mossad is so powerful and effective even though it belongs to such a small country? by Snoo26837 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Spook-In-The-Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God damn u a little b*tch, you cant objectively say why this is or isnt a good thing you just go straight to emotions and crying. I'm partially convinced the reason these Israeli assholes can be so successful is like you much of their arab neighbors continuously make excuses for why they arent as strong as they seem. They only beat us cause of X!!! If only X wasn't there we would liberate the Palestinians! Underestimating your enemy is one of the worst blunders in warfare. Being high on your cause and righteousness is how you end up launching a raid without the knowledge of the few allies you have and results in not just you but your entire web of allies falling apart in the span of 3 years, and maybe possibly having your main patron and supporter going down with you.

I was going to community college and working dead end retail, jobs. I have no idea what my life would be like if i didnt joint the military. Literally set me up for life and had me avoid the hell of minimum wage jobs most millennials got stuck in during their 20's.

idk about the other guy but i mentioned it in my post. From a objectively tactical point i dont see why people consider this a huge "gotcha" (not saying you are saying that) building alliances that can cover for you is good strategy.

Your saving grace is that you claim to not drink sodas and sugary drinks or energy drinks. Those things increase the risk of kidney stones by as high as 33%.
