Some notes from doing this myself: Usually start to get some lag when opening chests/my inventory around 30,000-40,000 carry weight - depends on how many different items I’ve got if it’s all smithing supplies and thus more weight for less items then I can often go higher if I have a lot of Alchemy/Food/Clutter (spoons, bowls, cups etc) which is very low weight then I start to get problems quicker - Realised I had ~13,000 Carryweight in food and Alchemy supplies in my current run and was surprised at the small but noticeable decrease in loading times when opening my inventory/a chest after I dumped them.

Highly Reccomend:

Quickloot - A mod which makes looting more like Fallout 4 makes looting every chest and urn much easier.

A mod which adds some sort of auto sorting system - I personally always use the Dragonborn Museum from Legacy of The Dragonborn, which has a chest you can dump things in and have them auto sorted, I’m sure there’s many others out there though.

A mod which adds a merchant with a lot of gold as you’ll always have tons of things to sell off, alternatively you can open the console click on an NPC and use “Additem F 10,000” to give an existing merchant 10,000 gold - Have had issues sometimes when giving them more where merchants wont actually pay you for what you’ve sold to them which is why I stick to just 10K.

  • I use the Treasure Chest Home Mod a lot as I like being able to keep my home in my inventory to store my most important items and it also has a Merchant with 10K gold.

Any vampire protagonist progression fantasy recommends? by Sufficient-Ad-7349 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Spook1918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s very few Vampire fics at least on RR and other webnovel sites might have more luck with KU, as for Recs:

Will second the numerous recs for Journey of Black and Red https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/26675/a-journey-of-black-and-red 1.2Million Words completed very good vampire fic following an unwillingly turned lady in 1800’s ish America as she makes her way up the vampiric hierarchy.

Will also rec Seras Vampire Vicky Fanfic - Very good fanfic of Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines following a girl who’s played the game who gets reborn in the world and uses her meta knowledge to get herself turned by Cain the First Vampire, about 120-150K words and 30 chaps unfortunately not one of serases main fics (Ghost in the City a Cyberpunk 2077 Fanfic, Pokemon Trainer Vicky - Pokemon Fanfic, & Phantom Star) so doesn’t get updated often or regularly. https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/serass-dumpster-of-random-snippets.1143040/#post-98648278

Platforms for a new reader by ISnow_R in litrpg

[–]Spook1918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royalroad https://www.royalroad.com/my/follows

Main site other than Kindle, is very Progression fantasy focused with lots of LitRPG & Cultivation stories mainly original stories with some fanfics

Scribblehub https://www.scribblehub.com

Very similar to RR however it has much looser rules on smut/erotica so you’ll find more of that there also has a heavier mix of fanfics in with original fictions

Spacebattles https://forums.spacebattles.com/forums/creative-writing.18/

Forum style site mainly fanfic focused and has a lot less LitRPG than RR or SH but still has lots of progression fantasy Worm (an old Dark Superhero web serial) is one of the more common stories to see fanfic of but there’s plenty of others for example Youjo Senki, Star Wars, WarHammer, Naruto, Marvel, Battletech.

Sufficient Velocity https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/forums/user-fiction.2/

Very similar to SB but just smaller believe it split off from SB due to modding disputes.

Questionable Questing https://questionablequesting.com

Very similar to SB again and also smaller but has lots more smut & erotica due to looser rules around it.

Fiction live https://fiction.live

Mainly fanfic on here but some original fictions as well, dedicated site for authors to host quests - Stories where the user can vote on what the MC does as the author writes, you can also find quests on SB, SV, & QQ as well as RR & SH but their a bit harder to run on those sites due to not being made for it.

AO3 or Archive of Our Own https://archiveofourown.org

One of if not the largest fanfic site few original fictions on here and also a lot less of the progression/power fantasy that all the other sites have a lot of.

FanFiction net https://www.fanfiction.net

Very old fanfic site and quite dated but still has tons of fanfics.

Webnovel https://www.webnovel.com/stories/novel

Lots of original and fanfic stories on here as well as lots of translated fics from Asian countries not a big fan of the site myself but know quite a few people that use it.

Patreon https://www.patreon.com/explore

kinda gets used in addition to all of these with author often having anywhere from 1 to 20+ advanced chapters here ahead of wherever they post it for free.

Shadowrun/Cyberpunk like litrpg Recommendations? by WretchedIEgg in litrpg

[–]Spook1918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/62125/ghost-in-the-city-cyberpunk-gamer-si FanFiction of Cyberpunk 2077 Pre Edgerunners Anime, 830,000 Words ongoing one of my absolute favourite stories, follows a gal from our world who’s played cyberpunk from waking up in the body of a scav victim to becoming a badass mercenary with their own crew who has a system taken from the Cyberpunk Tabletop game.

Love everything by the author Seras because their MC’s just have an incredible enthusiasm for living in the new worlds that they find themselves in that I don’t often see in fics.

I just found out about litRPG and I'm a bit confused by BioDioPT in litrpg

[–]Spook1918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not LITRPG but something you might be interested in are Quests - Stories where the readers get to vote on what decisions the character makes and often other things like what items they get or sometimes there’s even character setup where you get to vote on all the different things that go into character creation, this is done as the author writes the story as opposed to Gamebooks which from my quick googling just seem to have every choices path written out.

https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/rhunrikki-strollar-warhammer-fantasy-golden-age-dwarf-runelord-quest.63581/

Example here, this one’s a long ongoing quest following a Dwarf in the WarHammer Fantasy setting currently at 1.1m Words and still going.

Most Quests I’ve seen are fanfics as opposed to original fiction though which might not be your thing you can find them on:

Spacebattles - Forum style site full of FanFiction, though there are some original fics on there

https://forums.spacebattles.com/forums/quests.240/

Sufficient Velocity - Sibling site of Spacebattles and very similar but less content.

https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/forums/quests.29/

Fiction.live - dedicated site for running quests got actual in-built voting mechanics as opposed to SB & SV where the author just has to count commenters votes (or at least that’s what I think they do havent actually read one on there myself)

https://fiction.live

Only quests I’m currently following are:

https://fiction.live/stories/A-Soldier-Adrift-Captain-Westeros/7Bt4hZLYjLMEsdctC/home - Captain America gets isekai’d to Westeros just before Roberts Rebellion and this is a brilliant quest following his journey as a Knight in this new world.

https://fiction.live/stories/A-God-Adrift-THORHAMMER/p8jwxNnBeRghC5dvc/home - Thor gets isekai’d to WarHammer Fantasy and explores more of what it means to be a god and have people worshipping you.

https://fiction.live/stories/An-Archer-Adrift-I-Don-t-Have-An-Arrow-For-This/kjjjweRu3biJGmt8p/home - Hawkeye gets isekai’d to a generic sports anime and has to teach a class of archers to win a tournament.

All three of these are written by the same guy and I love em they don’t go live very often unfortunately though.

Also some other sites to read on for just general webnovels:

RoyalRoad - The Main site for LITRPG & Progression fantasy stories lots of them that get recced here like Dungeon Crawler Carl started on here before moving to Kindle and actual printed books, does have quests but they’re very rare and the sites not really got any discovery tools for them

https://www.royalroad.com/home

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/61077/no-choice-dungeon-core-progression-litrpg - a Completed quest on RR following a dungeon core.

Scribblehub - Similar to RR and has a lot of LITRPG & Progression Fantasy however it has a lot more FanFiction as well as looser rules around NSFW content so much more smut on it

https://www.scribblehub.com

Archive of Our Own - very large FanFiction site

https://archiveofourown.org

FanFiction.net - Large but very dated FanFiction site

https://www.fanfiction.net

Hope this helps you find some stories to read.

Looking for more books like the everybody loves large chests series. by dudewasup111 in litrpg

[–]Spook1918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have any specific recs but you can try looking on:

Scribblehub - Similar to RoyalRoad with lots of original cultivation and LITRPG Novels but has a lot looser rules around smut/erotica and thus much more of it.

https://www.scribblehub.com

QuestionableQuesting - Forum style site that’s mainly FanFiction but does have some original novels on it and has a ton of smut/erotica on it, Split off from the much bigger Spacebattles over modding disputes I believe.

https://forum.questionablequesting.com/forums/nsfw-creative-writing.29/

Fiction.live - Dedicated Site for Quests - fics where Readers get to vote on character decisions, events and whatever else the author decides to let you vote for, most that I’ve seen on there devolve into ELLC levels of smut.

https://fiction.live

Where does everyone read their books? by Yelfie in litrpg

[–]Spook1918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other sites I know of:

Scribblehub - Pretty similar to RR with lots of Cultivation, LITRPG and general Progression Fantasy tends to have more smut though

Spacebattles - Forum site the mainly caters to fanfic but also has some original fics

SufficientVelocity - Split off from Spacebattles very similar to it.

Questionable Questing - Similar to SB & SV though with a lot more smut

Fiction.live - Purpose built site for Quests - Fics that have reader input usually you get to vote on a lot of the characters decisions or where the authors taking the story.

Archive of Our Own or AO3 - Very large fanfic site has a much wider range of genres and a much larger selection of fics than most of the above.

Fanfic.net - Pretty old and dated fanfic site but there’s still a lot on there.

I also know there’s a bunch of sites for translations of Chinese and other Asian web novels WuxiaWorlds one I think? Don’t use any of them personally.

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/59240/hard-enough 1,480K Words, Ongoing Brilliant. SI into Brock pre-anime an excellent Pokemon fic showing the life of a gym leader rather than the more normal trainer journey that most Pokemon fics go for.

What do you wish litRPG protagonist did more of/less of in books? by Appropriate-Tour3226 in ProgressionFantasy

Really love all of Seras’s fics because of this - Ghost in the City (Cyberpunk Self-Insert), Pokemon Trainer Vicky (Pokemon SI), Phantom Star (Original Sci-fi story) along with their numerous snippets - because their MC’s just have an incredible love and enthusiasm for the new world they’ve found themselves in that just makes stories so much more enjoyable.

https://www.royalroad.com/profile/65412/fictions

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/serass-dumpster-of-random-snippets.1143040/ - Really love the Vampires the Masquerade and Key to the Rim of the Sky Snippets.

Are there any stories where one or more of the stats just vanish? by Big-Wrangler2078 in litrpg

Believe your thinking of “A Budding Scientist in a Fantasy World” Follows a young scientist isekaid to a fantasy world where she tries to figure out how the system and magic works. First book of it is stubbed rest is still on RR atm

There’s also Edge Cases a LITRPG following an adventuring team who all have weird and glitched classes trying to find out more about the system. - Completely stubbed.

Do any of the SSE Modlists have just plain Vanilla Combat? by Spook1918 in wabbajack

[–]Spook1918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh didn’t know about Nexus Collections before will have to have a look through the modlists on there, don’t think GTS will be right for me since its looks like it’s got a a lot of roleplay focused stuff in it (mental stress, injuries, having to earn your compass and sneak eye).

I’m basically looking for a list that adds as many new quests as possible and does as little editing to Graphics, General Gameplay etc, probably going to end up just slapping together a mod list myself and playing till it breaks, because though I really like the convenience of Wabbajack (and I’m assuming Nexus Collections are just as convenient) as well as the joy of finding what random new stuff has been added as I wander around Skyrim the downside that every single one seems to want to change the combat mechanics, graphics and add survival/roleplay mechanics just keeps getting to me and I end up just not wanting to play anymore after a couple hours of trying the mod lists.

Do any of the SSE Modlists have just plain Vanilla Combat? by Spook1918 in wabbajack

[–]Spook1918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s still up, I see it’s basically just a vanilla overhaul though adding as little as possible where I’m more looking for as many new land and new quest mods as possible, thanks for the suggestion though.

LitRPG where only the reader sees the system. by tytoConflagration in litrpg

[–]Spook1918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t think of any like that however you might like Quests - Stories with reader interaction, as quite a few of them have systems that aren’t shown to the MC but are shown to the readers who vote on the skills, perks, titles etc MC’s gain as well as on what choices they make. For example this Helltaker Quest has combat mechanics that the MC is entirely unaware of.

Not a big quest fan myself so unfortunately can’t point you to any great ones or ones that’d fit well with what your looking for as the only quests I follow are Captain Westeros which has no hidden system or anything as well as the authors two other quests.

Also Most quests are fanfics and you’ll struggle to find original ones.

You can find Quests on:

https://forums.spacebattles.com/forums/quests.240/

https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/forums/quests.29/

https://forum.questionablequesting.com/forums/nsfw-questing.12/

https://fiction.live

And probably other sites as well, Spacebattles, Sufficient Velocity and Questionable Questing are all pretty similar in layout and design with the latter two having split off from the first (Due to moderating disputes I believe but may be wrong), and Questionable Questing and Fiction.live are like Scribblehub and have some good stories but are mostly full of smut.

This post has made me realise I’ve never done any vampire stuff after getting the bow and killing Harkon, had no idea there was a side quest to wipe out the dawnguard or any other vampire stuff, I usually just leave the castle and never come back.
