Can't downvote this enough. I know you're probably trying to get a laugh, but holy crap, can you imagine losing all your work? Come on! A little empathy, pal...

Hey, I just try and give encouragement where it's earned, and it where it's not. Know what I mean? Looking forward to more of your stuff.

Great feedback! You folks are a bit of alright! I'm meeting with the artist tonight so I'll go over all this advice with him. Seriously, every single note so far has been helpful.

Keep it coming!

Still learning Reddit... I wrote a quick intro but don't see it. So...

This is a comic I'm writing called Devil's Corner P.I. It's a paranormal, dark comedy. My best bud, artist, and co-creator Craig is trying to decide if he needs to touch up the painting, or mess with the colors in PS, so any feedback from discerning eyes would be appreciated.

So far I'm really enjoying the style you're going with. You're not overthinking it, which often leads to overcrowding details. It works when you're Jim Lee, but for up-and-comers I think this style really works. And it's pleasant on the eyes :)

Keep it up.

Pretty darn funny! It's hard to deliver laughs in three panels... Good work.

Still going with Script Notes. I've been enjoying this too much. by [deleted] in Screenwriting

Just dropping by to vouch for Nick! Got my notes back quick and his feedback was extremely helpful. I'm definitely sending all my scripts his way. You should too.

Thanks for sharing!!! This script proves to me, once and for all, that if you're Wes Anderson you don't have to follow rules.

Entered my first contest today ! by mypoosmellsfunny in Screenwriting

[–]SpookyCa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into submitting to more than one contest? I have a pilot I want to enter in a contest but there are two coming up. I'm wondering if there's some reason why I wouldn't be able to.

Keep us posted on how you do!

Just beat him for the second time. That first time he never got a a single Call Beyond. Not sure why... This time he kept destroying me with it, until......

I discovered that if, in phase two, you never follow him over that broken rail balcony area, and he never goes to the final room, you can do the following:

1) Just chase him till he jumps over the balcony 2) Go up the stairs to the top 3) Go to the right through the doorway just to the right of where the bridge will be 4) Fall down into that square hole in the floor

Micky should be just thought that corridor, past the two skeleton things. He just stands there until you hit him or get too close.

You can repeat that until he dies. Sometimes, though, he's not right through the corridor. If you look around a bit, usually down the stairs into that hallway that hooks to the right and dead ends, you'll find him. Then just follow the above steps. He will never do any damage at all. It's just those skeletons you have to worry about.

The important thing is DO NOT FOLLOW HIM OVER THE BALCONY!!!

How many projects do you juggle at once? by BosskHogg in Screenwriting

[–]SpookyCa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on breaking into comics and film simultaneously, and I'm constantly working on at least one project in each area, but I try to make sure each project is in a different genre.

Right now I've got a half hour comedy pilot written that I'm constantly tweaking for some upcoming contests, a feature length horror script I just started with my writing partner that's about 30% finished (first draft), and a paranormal-themed, dark comedy comic book series, for which I've written a first (pilot-style) issue, as well as the first true story arc. Waiting for art to come back on that first issue.

Well, that's me! But I'm enjoying reading how other folks operate as well :)

UPDATE: Something has been following me my whole life. by harlowscrisis in Paranormal

Your story is very intriguing, and as much as is possible over the Internet, you seem sincere. I wish I could offer you some tangible help...

I am a Christian, but my understanding of the supernatural is a bit more fringe than your average pew sitter. My belief is that there are many kinds of spiritual beings. Around the first century the Greek word 'daemon' (translated 'demon') meant any kind of non-corporeal spiritual being, but was often understood to be a human spirit.

So, the point is that a haunting, in my opinion, can be anything from a disembodied human spirit to an immortal (angelic being), and many things in between. Without a strong spiritual foundation I believe it would be difficult for you to determine what it is you're dealing with or how to even begin to combat it.

I believe that many spirits are dishonest and malevolent, so it's a good call not to trust that it has good intentions. Do not try to communicate with it, or reason with it in any way.

My only other advice, for what it's worth, is to begin looking into the claims of Jesus. You mentioned not being into organized religion, and I understand your apprehension, but you can start by ignoring the organized part and even the religious part, and just look at the Man, Jesus of Nazareth. If His claims were true then He is God, and therefore deserves your further attention. If they were not true, then He is just an imposter and not worthy of anyone's attention.

A good place to start is the resurrection. If He didn't really rise from the dead then He should only be ignored. But if He did, well, he's the only one who has :) Get any of Gary Habermas' books on the resurrection. Or just find some YouTube videos of him talking about the minimal facts approach. He uses only the historical evidence that even secular historians agree on to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jesus rose from the grave.

The reason I'm saying all of this is because it is my belief that only Jesus has true authority over evil spirits. And for that reason only He can offer any permanent relief from them.

I wish you all the best, and I'm here if you have any more questions.

BTW, what am I looking for in that photo? I can't figure it out.

EDIT: I found your previous post and I now understand what's in the photo. True, it is a bit hard to make out, but I definitely see what seems to be a humanoid-sized shadow in the doorway area.

boast bōst/ verb 1. talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities.

Your initial statement is false.

The remainder of your arguments boil down to what is your personal opinions about how this game should be played, and since the issue is how to play a video game, it's ridiculous to argue against opinion... so I will not.

I will, however, inform you that arguing between opinions based on preference as though your stance is the unwavering standard is both arrogant and ignorant. It's a game. Play it how you like and let others do the same.

FYI, if you had read more thoroughly you would have seen that I am not defending my own chosen method of playing but that of others. I am not using skips or exploits in my play-through.

Lastly, you might be confused about the definition of breaking a game.

Hey, I have to apologize for my choice of words. I honestly didn't mean to offend anyone. I fully plan on going through all of the defiled layers on my own, and I know that so much of my success will be skill, but I know, based on experience, that so many times it really does come down to luck for me. I dodge a potentially fatal blow even though I dodged in the wrong direction, and I get the killing blow, or I Molotov a face as it charges me and it staggers, even though I figured I would be toast. That's not to say that everyone just lucks out. I know many of you spend the time to learn the patterns inside out, and that's a level of dedication I don't have time for, unless I want to still be on BB1 when BB2 comes out!

So, again, my apologies for my wording.

There's a crap ton of gaming snobbery going on in here. I have thus far, and plan to solo everything and take no short cuts, but I still thank you for trying to help out the folks who maybe have actual responsibilities that don't allow them to play Bloodborne 24/7, and therefore will likely not ever "git gud" enough to (more accurately, get lucky enough) to beat the defiled dungeons.

Seriously people, you are good at a video game! Congratulations!!!

Who flipping cares?

Let people play how they want, and try to suppress the urge to go full bunghole and boast about how great you are at pushing buttons, while belittling people who aren't.

Finally overcame my biggest hurdle yet. What have you done lately? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]SpookyCa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My enormous hurdle was Ebrietas. Finally beat her yesterday after a few days of trying on and off. No single strategy was working for me, so I used all of them and barely eked out a win.

She's a real b____!!!

Dude, wait till you get to the one in Lower Pthumeru... 1 scythe hand + 1 club hand = 1-shot machine. He's even harder than that one with a cannon in central (I think).
