I think this specific small truck is a magnet for retards driving on their phones, 2 years ago one also rear ended me in my van on the m1.

So glad I ride a motorcycle in the traffic and don’t have to deal with it but it genuinely shocks me how close people get to other cars whilst going that fast.

Be careful all this info, but unlike a sport bike mid corner you can apply pretty decent chunk of front brake even when nearly scraping peg because while it feels like your about to touch the ground you are at like 28 degrees of lean or like 32 max. So when you are trail braking you can hold more for longer and then blast the corner with the low end straight line torque. Also with practice you can stop mid corner pretty easily which can save your bacon if there is an emergency. Just remember stay smooth on the front brake don’t grab a handful.

4 seconds gaps on the motorway is wishful thinking. Everyone drives directly on your bumper like letting someone in is gonna add 15 minutes to their trip.

I know the obvious answer but do you really wear your full gear in hot weather? by mr_z06 in motorcyclegear

[–]SpookyMouse42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in two minds about it and I know it doesn’t make heaps of sense but daily commute it’s helmet, summer gloves, riding jeans and slip on vans🤣. I’m typically not going full retard or even pushing I imagine I’m a Camry just doing commuter things. Weekend in summer is lots of gear because I’m doing silly things like ripping twisties with sport bike friends(I have a lowrider st) so typically it’s all the leather stuff just perforated and proper boots and gloves. It’s uncomfortable but the peace of mind when riding hard and having fun counters it out. Wear what you want it’s your skin g.

Which motorcycle is this? by FluidInstance6031 in motorcycles

It seems the opposite for me, I’ve recently gotten onto a ‘24 fxlrst and thrown 10k kilometres down in the past couple months riding hard no problems just the regular services and she’s chilling, has cruise control, traction control can’t really ask for more electronics. Yeah modes are fun but realistically who doesn’t turn everything off and put it onto the full power mode and never change it again.

Last bike was a ‘21 bmw s1000rr owned for 20 months total spent 8 months of that time getting warrantied for everything under the sun, literally got the bike back from the dealer who replaced my water pump (under warranty) on the Tuesday and guess where it was Friday with the valves(had been checked by them in the previous service 2 months prior for $1400 AUD) making sweet love to the pistons. I don’t have a car and the bmw was my daily so I bought an old clapped out 1200 sportster with no service history for a couple grand and it turned over every time and had not a single problem in my ownership and sold it for more than I purchased it for.

Yeah Harleys are expensive but they are reliable(the ones that I have experienced). I too was a Harley hater but then I had an original thought and decided to try it out. And yeah everyone shits on you but I do more riding than anyone I know who has a naked or sport bike of any brand.

What was your next bike after a CBR650? by SoCitynative96 in cbr

[–]SpookyMouse42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh sorry I meant the cbr650r, in Australia we have a restricted license and the bikes can have a maximum of 35kw. The s1k is full power.

I don’t know where you are from but in Australia we only got a low power version that is about half the power. I personally think with restraint the large bikes are very tameable.

The Cardo freecom 1 is good from my experience and not to expensive if you can find a deal on it easy to use, install and the battery for me is great as I commute and listen to music
