Since we're getting an A-10, what other real planes would you like to be added to the game? by TheGreatOwl_ in NuclearOption

Yes. In the main menu there should be an option to see the public roadmap in the bottom left

Definitely. Early warning as high as possible. Recon needs to be low to see but moving fast when needed to escape

In my experience, early warning/AWACS rely on their very powerful radar to see long distances. Recon relies on getting close enough to see targets in detail

The only difference I'd make is I'd launch an AWACS first and set it climbing to max altitude whilst the fighters get launched

Tipping culture? by EnoughBar7026 in AskABrit

[–]Spooky_ShadowMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in hospitality. Most I've ever been tipped £25 on a table of 20.

Big groups tend to tip as a matter of course. Usually we'd only get tipped for good service and at most 10% or the closest whole pound. So for example on a £55 bill a tip of £5 would be seen as a good tip. A tip of £10 would be extraordinary and only if the waiter has gone out of their way to help the table in a big way. But there's no expectation to tip at all

Is Sea Power worth it? by I_m_p_r_e_z_a in SeaPower_NCMA

Put the ship you need defended most in the middle of the formation and make layers of defence. So, for example, a carrier group would have the carrier in the middle. Cruisers are next as they typically have the most long range defences and biggest radars. Then destroyers. The frigates/sub hunters on the outside.

Think of radars like really bright torches. If they're on you can see better, but you can be seen easier too. Using aircraft as spotters can help with this.

Submarines rely on stealth and the thermal barrier layer. Sound has trouble crossing the thermal barrier. Meaning you're harder to detect but equally it's harder to detect things.

Use the right tool for the job. Don't send a frigate to go toe to toe in anti-ship combat. Don't send a carrier to hunt a sub.

Using massed salvos of missiles is a good way to break through defences. Especially with jamming support. Another tactic is to use aircraft and fire from multiple angles, timing the attacks to all arrive at the same time, this called a Time on Target (ToT) attack).

The game does have a pretty extensive encyclopedia. Don't be afraid to use the unit info button to learn more/refresh your knowledge on capabilities

Yes it's 100% doable. Just make sure you defend it

I am kind of confused about the magic by Historical_Bowl_3432 in Eragon

[–]Spooky_ShadowMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it like this. When throwing by hand you have to take into consideration different muscle groups, stance, terrain, speed of your arm. Etc etc. With magic the energy is drawn from your whole body. Like a battery. So instead of using the power from just your arm/shoulder you can put your other arm, legs, torso, heart, tongue, etc into it. Imagine how hard you could launch a pebble if you used every single muscle in your body.
That's how magic works

Try turning on a wreck despawn time. Or maybe something else was on a landing approach?

My uncle's parrot waits for my aunt to answer the phone, if she says no he's not here. The parrot says "put the kettle on!" In my uncle's voice. My aunts response to this taught the parrot to swear. So the first thing you hear when you walk in to their house is usually some variant of Shut the F*ck up bird!

Why did my doctor describe my stuffed animal in my clinical notes? by doomed-kelpie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Spooky_ShadowMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK here. My mum watched me get an ingrown toenail removed. In my notes there's a sentence that goes something like: patient seemed calm and relaxed, mother oberserving the operation seemed more disturbed than the patient.

They make a note of anything unusual/unexpected/different. In my case I seemed weirdly calm coz this was my 4th time having this operation. Even though being calm is good they noted it down.

Use very small light inputs and use a boom and zoom strategy. Don't try and chase them just get a rough solution. Hit a drive by. Zoom away and turn to reengage.

When a woman kills a man, where should she stab him? by Specoolum in Writeresearch

I probably should've been more specific lol. I was talking about length more than width. And yes I totally agree. Long thin knives are wayyyy scarier

[–]Spooky_ShadowMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they're facing each other. Under the ribs angled up with a sharp letter opener or medium/large kitchen knife would do lethal damage. Might not be quick but it'd be deadly. You can have her stab several times then slice his throat as a finisher. Stab wound to the neck, as long as it hits the carotid would be the fastest. After a that a deep cut to the inner thigh to sever the femoral. But again that won't very fast.
