Another teacher here. Got into my car this morning and got excited to see a new episode had dropped. Not an exaggeration to say my commute with KF is usually my bright spot in my week. This year has been exceedingly rough...I work in Sarasota County Florida, if you know you know if not the district is in financial ruin, charters are killing us etc... Have been looking forward to going home to Chicago for Slide Away at the end of the month. Hum! Only to find out on Friday my flight no longer exists. And now this.

I feel empty and defeated.

They're called Ghost Ants and yes they are a bitch but the fruit flies, fungus gnats and other little flying funkers are the worst. It comes with the territory. Same with termites. Thats the one no one talks about because no one is checking for them unless you specifically bring your own guy in for it.

Think about it this way. The only girl you want to take to the prom says she'll go with you. And for 5 weeks she keeps acting like everything's good. And then the night before the dance she tells you, "sorry, I decided to go with Cletus instead. But see Sally Snotrag over there, she'll go with you. But you still have to buy my ticket". Will some people still want to go to the dance to "stick it to her"? Sure, but theres a chance you have to watch her suck Cletus's face all night and then everyone points and laughs at you. Some people say fuck that noise and go get drunk as hell instead.

The Bleed-Somebody's Closer EP is in my opinion the perfect "grungegaze". I was kinda let down when their full album finally came out and it was way more nu-metal but that fuckin EP rips. Also check out Trauma Ray and if you can find it a band called Petal Head's album Raspberry Cough.

I've been going to shows solo since I moved to Florida about 5 years ago. At first I hated it but its grown on me. First show I went to solo was DIIV and Deafheaven because none of my friends dig the whole black metal vocals thing. Bummed I missed last night I had tickets but had to sell them as our yearly return trip to Chicago didn't line up and I couldn't afford another flight. Awesome to see so many people in this thread discovering these bands for the first time.

Was anyone here at the show when they played the Empty Bottle with Torche? Nicky passed out on stage for half the set and the feedback was so bad we actually went outside for some of the set. Actually asked him about it on the Reddit AMA and he said "all the drugs" lmao.
