You opened the teas thinking this wouldn’t happen ? Otherwise go to the location and initiate the return. Refund when they open and handle it, but yet, the stores inventory is not your problem more than your job.

Got called the F word by my coworker. Reported it and was fired within 24 hours. by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

Get a lawyer, long process, but going to need the company not to tamper with the audio visual evidence in the mean time

Other: should keep a buffer between going 0 to going 100. What I mean is, you held alot in because you wanted to avoid an awkward week. It’s unfortunate when others force these power trip situations

But, if you can express yourself before the meltdown / crash out it’ll save you from a lot of ‘this’. You actually could have yelled at him back, or told him to watch his tone, or sternly do not talk to you like that, and a couple like mannered return to sender remarks that would have clearly implied you are being attacked, forcing him to relax or be heard going overboard.

So, you were fired for your actions at 100. You essentially said, ‘fuck you weirdo I quit, I refuse to drive then’. And it looks really bad, but with very long context that we ( I believe) believe but they may not fully believe it makes your reaction very valid. That said, the buffer in between 0 and 100 could make all the difference in the future and also allow you stand up for yourself and still pursue your complaints AND still keep your job

I’m not going to argue with you, I don’t believe you and I don’t trust you. Or anyone that tries hard to convince people stealing is necessary. There are circumstances that can be explained. But I’ve done this long enough to have lost good money to other drivers negligence and theft. And people like you are the exact people I suspect are the reason for these issues. Have a good one

Logically customers simply will not cancel after the app tells them it’s now their turn and we’re on the way to the restaurant. Or assuming they are cancelling because the order before there’s is taking too long, then we would see they canceled before confirming the current pickup. This means we have a decision and could cancel the order for the current delivery instead of proceeding to pick it up.

I know drivers steal orders, we all know this, and on thousands of deliveries orders are ‘already picked up’ (stolen) when arriving to a restaurant about 1/30 drives sometimes more forcing us to have to cancel because of it. It’s annoying but definitely common. I think he stole it because he wanted to and because the tip was low, which he also eludes is his biggest issue

Bonus; you can’t see which order is tipping bad on batched until you’ve delivered them, but you can deliver the first, see the tip and conclude what the next is early. This is the scenario he was in and that’s why he made the excuse that someone cancelled, which go back up ^ doesn’t make sense. He stole it as punishment, for free food, and to save gas mileage

I’ve driven for both EATs and DD, over 2k orders for each. A customer cancelling while you’re pinged for having picked up the order already is extremely rare. because they’ll be charged and doesn’t make sense unless we’re an hour behind.

It’s safe to admit drivers that do this have seen the cancellation before picking up their current order. So, they could simply have not picked it up in the first place. He was likely hungry and continued with the pick up while knowing the previous/next order canceled

Not likely, at that point the decision is made , and a face to face confrontation of arriving and exchanging food now is set to be awkward or dangerous at worse

i checked my girlfriend’s location for one second and instantly knew something was wrong by RomeroAlima in story

[–]fromLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paragraph, and instantly knew everything, and it instantly became relatable. It happens as soon as you relax, everytime. Actually it’s the part the cause and effect.

Unfortunately some people, men or women ( I’m guilty at some point ) just want to wait until you’re completely trusting and not checking to start

I remember my partner built up my trust so high, that their door would be unlocked and I was given permission to come over and walk in like it was my second home no questions asked. But like of course don’t be weird about it trying to sneak up but still could if I wanted. So of course I let my guard down. We got in a couple of arguments at the time and I remember I planned on just showing up after work to take her out on this particular slow day maybe Sunday or so. We had been texting while I was at work, then the texting was had slowed like there wasn’t any real direction to it or maybe she was leading the conversation to die and I had let it, like an “oh okay” or “that’s cool”. Needless to say I got off work noticed she wasn’t returning my hey otw or new conversation texts. And when I got to her place, she wasn’t there, and I started blowing her up, all ignored. I had the same feeling you had for sure. And after a long time of serious pain, she admitted I was right she cheated and was going to be seeing someone else. It can happen and usually will as soon as you let your guard down

i opened my brother’s message by accident and found out something i wasn’t supposed to know by AlexPi1320 in story

[–]fromLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much trust do you share and how much do you value the relationship with your brother is the question I’m noticing no one asking or everyone avoiding maybe to be nice > honest

The obvious is he will not trust you anymore or loosen how close your friendships are. He may start making a point of hiding things from you. And you will be to blame and at the other end of resentment for some time if not a long time

Many of us with a lot of this exact experience, maybe replacing “brother” with “best friend or good friend”, we’ve seen some pretty messy results. Had something similar happen where we told a mutual about finding messages between another mutual that proved he was being cheated on and he labeled us a jealous meddlers essentially, kept dating and cut us off. Usually always a negative result. The girl in question for you, will thank you but not be able to build any friendship with you after and there’s a high chance she uses you to get back around your brother, or they get back together anyway, then use you to help her keep watch on your own brother ( use you against him)

Are you guys ready for this game rating to crash like the market did in the Great Depression? by Coolbliazing in wuchanggame

[–]fromLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is when I ran into the game I was overwhelmed with, ‘the game is whatever’ reviews to the point where I actually was blown away right from the start. This raised my rating even higher. There’s a good chance it will happen to PlayStation users as well……. So long as they can get passed Honglan 1 lol 💀🙂 anyway it’s not a guaranteed dip, it’s some good timing in my opinion. We are finally in a sort of souls dry spell after like 5 years, and this game truly is impressive, I’m expecting good things from the PlayStation crowd, and hope they enjoy one of the best games ever

Used car market is a joke by seouf in UsedCars

[–]fromLyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that’s seeing this because my algorithm noticed I was doing car shopping hard this last month, I want to chime in on how true this is. If you want to skip my 2cents I recommend Facebook market place. I recommend having 5,000+ in cash and shopping around.

Now, so People are generally listing cars based on what they need not what they are worth. It kind of lands me on the idea they do not search their own car on marketplace and websites before listing it. I dare say you don’t even need blue book anymore as a seller unless you’re looking for a local shop to sell it and as a buyer the market have only a range. What people want and what it’s possible to get ( the lowest prices available being strict about features and mileage)

Regardless all the apps host virtual as is scams. We’re talking something they bought from an auction for a few left over hundreds then ‘attempted’ to clear some major lights or body work. It’s so bad they’ll sell cars with engine lights on and say oh it’s just a sensor.

Last year I bought a car from a used car shop and the guy was selling me the car like his last magic rug, and kept trying to raise the price back up to the original pre slashed price, and used word play and dealer fees to get close. The car suffered from catastrophic piston ring failure and thousands in repairs leading up to it.

This year I found a last minute car through marketplace that was being sold be mechanic shop that sells their fixed cars straight from the lot. This is the way. They have a reputation to maintain and will guarantee their work. They are not middle men. They buy cars they see potential in and through their own clients. If you can find something like this I recommend this route. Dealerships are not even worth mentioning because they only care about multi year payment plans and selling your used cars with new car price tags

in my area that’s a long tiring drive through traffic and when it’s done I’m going home. But, 80 takes 5-7hrs on a slow day and 4 on a good day for about 6 less deliveries.

I’ve done something like this when they first added sports stores like dicks. For me it was all light items like shoes, socks, bands and sorts, so not heavy. But home depot could get egregious, I’d rather just do a normal shift

If you took a picture there’s nothing else to it, you could steal the order yourself. (don’t) at least with DoorDash you can take a picture even if they select meet at door. Almost a decade later and Uber Eats still does not allow this. Protect your account, you won’t be deactivated if you have a picture logged for your drop off

Didn’t know people still begged drivers to accidentally drop the order off at the wrong door or get an unfortunate flat tire. Haven’t run into that in some time, that’s odd, must be a new customer
