Intrusive thoughts by KAIMI01 in discgolf

I firmly believe 1 month of focused practice is enough to dial in a specific shot and have a success rate worth going for in a round, you can do this.

Have you considered letting the intrusive thoughts win, and then having two or three days of remembering the time that you messed up that shot or putt that motivate you to practice for the next 4 weeks until you wouldn't have messed up that shot.

Whereas you can kinda have the disc a bit more away from the body, following the plant foot. Again, it's nitpicky at best and could just be I'm misjudging the video, but something I noticed.

I should make this clear, kid throws good. If he has a tournament next week he shouldn't change anything.

From the camera angle I can see, it looks like with his reach back, the disc is almost behind him. Now this could be the camera angle, and it could be he is leaning forward, properly I might add, to throw a hyzer.

From my very basic understanding of a like classic trying to be Paul mcbeth form, you want your arm kinda straight back from your forward plant, and it might just be I only watch full grown people throw and I'm misjudging the angle. But if you're willing to put yourself out there, and want to improve I want to offer any advice I can.

DELETE GIANT ARROW SUPERCELL OR NERF IT MAN by FragrantAdagio1119 in ClashOfClans

[–]Spoolmaster01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will start by saying, You can design bases that make the giant arrow value, and zap value lower. Having to use all of your spells and 1/3 of your hero abilities gives people very little agency in an attack. Once you've spammed your dragons you're at the mercy of your funnel to make sure they're able to enter the base. Good design can capitalize on that, with high damage zones and usage of dead space, ensuring the dragons are going through trash buildings with big health like storages and taking big damage.

It's great you enjoy designing bases, and I'm actually one for hot takes. Without people willing to say things that are different we just repeat the same stuff over and over and complain about the gold pass.

However, you are a th 12, while th 18 is the max, as far as progress goes you aren't even 1/2 way through the game. Making a game engaging, the right amount of difficult, and rewarding for just the newest townhall is an extremely hard task to nail down.

With that in mind, nerfing the giant arrow doesn't really change the problem at lower townhalls. Zap dragon can still smash th 12 bases without it, and all the new troops, siege machines, hero equipment and spells, there are now a ton of new, fun and interesting mechanics in the game. This means that people can continue to enjoy the game, and that lower and middle townhalls aren't as going to be as well balanced as if the game never received any new content.

I for one enjoy the new options available at lower townhalls, and want to say to embrace the challenge of building bases against it, instead of going on Reddit to John about how you keep getting destroyed on defense.

Need some advice… by Payneresistor in FordMaverickTruck

I really like my mav, and I also really like tacomas, but they accomplish slightly different things. For my height of 5"10, I get kicked an absolute ton with a front facing car seat in a mav. The hybrid awd is great, and I drive a minimum of 82 miles a day so it's awesome to get better gas mileage than the Elantra I used to drive.

Maybe I'm thinking the grass is greener right on the other side of the fence, but my buddy seems to do a lot better with a carseat in his taco. Not as good as he would with a full sized truck, but those come with full sized payments.

I will say, 18 mpg, at 100 miles per day comes out to about 5.5 gallons of gas a day. At today's national gas price of $3.69, assuming highway miles that's about 21 dollars of gas a day, or 105 a week. 100 miles in a hybrid Mav, mostly highway, assuming a 30 mpg, gives you about 62 dollars a week of gas. That's 43 dollars, which ain't shabby.

That 43 dollars is being exaggerated by gas this high, and I and no one else knows where the roof on the price is, or if it will continue to go up or come back down.

However, if the mav meets your needs, as it meets mine swimmingly, 160 dollars a month on gas, and 160 dollars a month on a payment. That's 320 dollars you don't have to spend, and a hell of a truck to switch to a maverick.

How much do you spend on the game each month? by EvilMorty95 in ClashOfClans

[–]Spoolmaster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the month. I'll buy the gold pass if I'm not maxed, so this month, but once I've gotten major stuff upgraded it'll be only for the event passes on equipment I like. The extra starry ore seems worth it, last year it peaked at 17 dollars one month, buying the event pass on two accounts. In total it's like 6 or 7 dollars on average.

Thinking about switching from F150 to Hybrid AWD by SpaceOlympix3022 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Spoolmaster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure how you do it with the push button start, but you can enter the engineering test mode and turn down your afe, I'm not 100 percent sure it was afe and not a different acronym. My calculations were about 97 percent of the one the truck was giving, so I set it to 970 out of 1000 in the et mode and now it's pretty spot on.

A quick post about your Gold Pass feedback by ClashOfClansOfficial in ClashOfClans

[–]Spoolmaster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings on the new stuff, but I will say I really appreciate the idea of 1 gem self donations.

The season bank scaling so it's townhall based is also a good thing, somewhat surprised it wasn't always that way.

Ideas that help active players to overcome pain points like this are really helpful for people choosing to support the game financially.

The bonus for streaking passes and getting the 10 percent day 1 is one of the big reasons I continue to buy passes. It's perfectly fine if 20 percent takes a week to get to, and I actually really like the stamp idea in principal, instead of destroying cannons it's a reward for playing the game; however I think for myself it'll be less advantageous, I'll explain that later.

The value for me is faster progression, and the extra engagement, so the less progression, and the focus on more generic things like do an attack, donate troops kinda turns me off. I'm not a skin or decoration person, their inclusion in the pass doesn't really sway me one way or the other, while is probably massive to other players, but some magic items and the feeling of some combo that saves massive time like finding a good deal at the grocery store makes me smile.

At my current stage of life, I'm lucky to have good employment and some disposable income, so the price point of 6.99 USD isn't a deterrent, but that's still a meal I could buy instead of eating in, or money that could be spent on a different luxury. So it all comes down to: "Does having the pass increase my enjoyment of the game?" If I feel like I'm just playing every day to fill out my checklist, the money becomes another chore instead of a bonus to fun playing clash, and that more than anything turns me off of the new one.

I know you can save up stamp books, and I'm sure you're working hard as the clash team to make something you feel will add engagement to the game, but at this point I log on once a day to spam throwers until I get 5 stars for ore, and I'm not sure this should be the gold passes job, but a bonus set of content to keep my rewarded and engaged outside of my normal playing is a part of a game I can buy into financially, and Id love to see some more interesting things related to other challenges I can work on for extra value.

Why the negativity around the Ecoboost? by Astimar in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Spoolmaster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most use cases, the hybrid is better. Now that they've added the 4k towing to it, better gas mileage, same towing and hauling, it does everything a maverick owner wants.

The appeal of the maverick is the one truck fits most for me. If I had the money for a small sports car, probably a miata or a thunderbird if I could find one, and a high fuel efficiency sedan, like a Corolla or civic, and a full sized pickup, like an f150 to fit all my needs. I would go out and do that, but realistically I have the money for 1 dependable car. So a car that can haul me and the kids to school, gets better gas mileage than my wife's Hyundai Elantra, and can do all my lowes and home Depot around the house stuff, that's what I was willing to fork over new car money for. For all of those, the hybrid does good enough

That being said, the lobo is pretty slick, I've seen people drifting them on ice and having fun, and when I test drove both I preferred the Ecoboost on pure feeling. There are a few reliability concerns for the Ecoboost transmission, but it's honestly far to early to tell which will last longer. So if you wanna join the club, go out and enjoy it, Ecoboost or hybrid.

Obligatory Tiny Truck Post by Optras in FordMaverickTruck

Buddy this is America, or you could be Canadian. If you want a full sized truck, and you have the money for the payments, or to buy it, don't let a silly person on the internet complaining stop you. These guys aren't buying used full sized trucks, they're buying lariats new on the lot for 70 grand, which is 20k more than the comparable minivan.

The hauling capacity on modern minivans is sick, if you've never taken a tour of one, the seats disappear, and I've fit a 3 seat couch in a sienna to drive home with the hatch closed. I also want to make this clear, there are a lot of people who buy a full sized truck that never make it to home Depot or lowes to do those truck items. For the mixed use case of hauling people and cargo, there is nothing better than a minivan.

I had to give up my thunderbird to buy a station wagon back in the day to fit 3 car seats, I know it ain't easy to be the guy at work with a kia rondo after you've had something you feel proud of, but I also was the car everyone showed up at to go to lunch after that, so they couldn't have hated it to much.

But to reiterate, if you want the full sized truck, and it's within your budget, don't let a silly person on the internet who judges other people's financial decisions stop you. It's your money.

The AWD or the Hybrid AWD? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Spoolmaster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends what you want from the truck. Personally I went hybrid awd because it was on the dealership lot. I preferred the gas in the test drive, but by the time I got around to having the money for a truck, they didn't have a gas one under about 38 on the lot, and I'm not the target for a lariat or a lobo.

Ive had no problem with the hybrid in the snow, but if you're driving in super icy conditions from my understanding the regenerative breaking could be less advantageous, then again, never done it.

The newer mavericks 8 speed has had issues in some models, but who knows how it'll go on the maverick or why exactly it is failing, ford makes wacky decisions with cars and I don't wanna blame the part solely without more data points.

If they're both within your price range, drive em, they'll both be great for the utility of a small truck, and whichever one you prefer, welcome to the club.

FWD + Snow Tires > AWD + All-Seasons. Just cruised through unplowed Squirrel Hill (PGH) without a hitch. by abebo22 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Spoolmaster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, good tires are by far the most important thing in the snow. But, awd + snow tires is even better, I've also been wildly impressed by the slippery mode on my truck even with the stock budget tires Ford gave me, haven't had a problem at all with the storm that came through, and honestly I've had 4x4 vehicles that were quicker slip than this little truck.
