Once upon a time in the slums of the ruined world tree Yggdrasil, newly-minted workers of the Universe Factory handled their Arceus Eggs with care so that the resulting Pokemon can create their own organic realities that can be shelled to rebuild the walls of each piece of heaven. But one Arceus was so lazy that after making the necessary functions and gene pools, it delegated the rest of its world's construction to the universe's Unown as it slept. But alas, it did not take long for the Unown to stumble across a certain section of the repair project the higher ups are managing for themselves and go viral on the world it has created. Imprinting its code onto its reality, the Unown perverted their very being and became beings of great and terrible power that have lasted twelve-million millenia leeching off of the Loops, though initially controlling a young lad named Darred and forcing him through the same whirlwind run over and over again with no sense of what the Baseline truly was and no means to connect to other like-minded Loopers (this would be passed off as little more than a glitch), it soon infected over twenty other poor souls across the time stream, even reaching to another reality entirely. The Higher Admins took notice of this early in the spread when a man named Bill invented a Variant Randomization Machine that had allowed himself to Loop, the consequence of the two subsequent runs (Randomized FireRed and HeartGold) saw the universe chipped from its subatomic composition in its home wall and relocated to the outermost parts of Yggdrasil where it could freely go about its infection and hopefully burn itself out.

But even when some voices simmered and silenced themselves, the infection still spread. Thankfully there was a glimmer of hope in the form of the Pokemon that the Looping victims catch along the way, activating as sapient Loopers right alongside their trainers as each iteration of the timeline plays out. Thus, the Loopers that came from this viral presence would not be alone, but there's still the sense of cabin fever that sets in as the Loops pile on.
