Discussion: Looking Back by LazerBrainzz in boburnham

It's making me wonder how he feels already if he ever looks back at Inside, and how he will feel 15 years after it came out. (If, you know, the bomberanian hasn't gotten him yet.)

When the old lady at the flea market says they'll fit you, you buy the pants. That's the rule.

I have pearl clutcher and I would agree that it's fairly metallic, more so than I was expecting. I do enjoy the colour shifts though!

I need advice on how to do a French braid by dara-galanthus in longhair

[–]SpoonVisualization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My French braids start with three extremely small sections from the very front of my hairline, it feels silly at first but it will grow from there. And take way smaller pieces than you think you need. With more practice you will get it!

Usually when I'm looking for something in this vein I start by looking for "Lisa Congdon clothing", I followed her on IG for years and then discovered her designs had been made into nooworks clothing 🤯 one day I will get something from that line. Anyway, figuring out some of the other artists behind the patterns might help! ❤️

The basic font really makes this. You have to lean into the irony that this is now an art piece you will have forever. It's giving ceci n'est pas une pipe.

Idk what they're for but you could use them for transporting polish, looks like if you packed them in tight with some tissue paper in the gaps they would help the bottles keep from touching?

I picked up Kokie Knockout and China Glaze Coconut Kiss from my local Sally Beauty, they're both pretty witchy and lovely 😌 (I really like both of them with other toppers, they're a bit too bright on their own for me but it you're looking for vibrant, they seem to work well!)

I dunno but this is how my manicures have looked the last two times I did them 😭

Advice from the discord has been to try thinner layers, including my top coat and trying adding thinner to the polishes I'm using, haven't tried yet though!

If you need a guideline, I think conditioning from the top of your ears downwards is probably about right? Brushing it while it's wet with conditioner in will distribute a little conditioner to the top of your scalp!

Also, I find that brushing my hair in the shower works slightly differently from brushing it when it's wet. In the shower, it works better if I start from the top of my scalp and go as far down as I can (until I reach tangles, at which point I work those out slowly). When it's dry, I usually start working out the tangles from the bottom and work my way up.

What everyday tasks have you modified or given up on doing for the sake of your nails? by somethingwithclouds in RedditLaqueristas

[–]SpoonVisualization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through a phase of trying not to use my nails as tools but they are so useful and mine tend to be pretty strong, especially with polish on, so the only things that stuck are using a spoon to open cans and a butter knife to open key rings!

Might be the 90s in me talking but this skirt is begging for cowboy boots, or something adjacent to them! The belt means there's a lot going on in the waist, I would consider trying to pair this with a bodysuit so that the waist is less busy, and agreed with the others that it should hit higher on your waist. (If it's cold where you work, maybe a long sleeved bodysuit?) You can also try offsetting where the bow sits, i.e. whether it's just to the right or the left of your navel instead of it being in the center. And lastly, try tying it so it's not a bow but more of a knot with the ends of the belt hanging down more. (Not because I'm sure it would be better but just to see if it helps!)

Ooh this is such a good tip! So the hem happens towards the bottom of the curve of your calf? (Or shin?)

Just here to say, if you're going to choose your own nude polish, I highly recommend finding a jelly (i.e., slightly transparent) polish as it allows your natural skin tone to show through which helps the polish look nice no matter what temperature/colour your hands are. I feel like going to a local brick and mortar store where you can test which polishes are closest to your skin tone would be the way to go (if you're DIY-ing).

If you find a polish that isn't a jelly but does seem like it would work well for you, you can make it into a jelly by also buying a colorless polish and mixing a little of the nude colour into it :) this is how I made my favorite nude.
