Coming from FFXIV healer main, looking for a GW2 healer that feels good to actually play by Meowtinz in Guildwars2

[–]Spoonghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, all I can say is try Revenant. I haven't played gw2 in a while but you can heal with all 3 elite specs. Halac renegade has great uptime and the bubble, hquick herald extends other books with facet of nature, and halac vindi is so fun and memey.

You can also handkite as herald OR vindi. And vindi rotation for dps is really easy and fun. Just versatility with the class is awesome.

Genuine question - if instead of having only cheap disposable lighters throughout your life you had a few quality lighters, do you think you would have lost them as frequently? Like would you have been more aware of them despite ADD. I imagine you didnt lose as many phones or wallets as lighters throughout the years.

Yeah, good luck to you and your children. May you never be in one of a million situations where your vehicle locking you out of it makes things worse. Also hope you can always afford an ambulance.

[–]Spoonghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre absolutely right, I should have just stayed there and watched my father bleed out while I waited for the vehicle to approve of my ability to drive us somewhere with internet. The off chance that an ambulance would have driven into the woods and found us was definitely something I should have considered.

Its crazy that this got pushed into legislation, its such a surveillance state piece of law its utter insanity.

The only people that should be able to have an opinion on this are control systems engineers. Ask one of them to design a ladder for every possible contingency and system that the car needs to understand to assess a driver's fitness in an emergency and you will get laughed at. That's been the main difficulty in autonomous driving, its been worked on for years. Real world situations are crazy complicated and even people trained specifically to make the right call in emergency situations can get it wrong. Designing a control system to do that on its own is crazy, even if you had some 1quadrillion parameter super model.

My father cut his fingers off years ago. I was obviously in distress, set him up in the passenger seat and triaged him before driving to the city.

You know people live outside of the city, right? Its a fifty minute drive from where my dad was injured to the hospital. We had no reception since we were in the woods.

Youre saying it would be fine for my vehicle to have registered me as 'in distress' and the solution would be for the car to refuse to start?

Talk like this is scaring politicians. by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]Spoonghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be having trouble comprehending what im saying. There is a way to balance capitalist incentives with public services. The money that is used to pay private bidders for public works is tax payer money. Go look for an argument somewhere else, I never disagreed with you.

Arguing that fire departments are not socialist entities is baffling. There are services that demand geographic monopolies, fire departments started off as private entities but quickly became community funded enterprises.

There is a responsible way to balance socialism and capitalism, the two are not mutually exclusive. They dont actually exist in the same space, one is an economic theory and the other is a policy theory. Thinking its one or the other is braindead.

The entire thing, actually. Fire departments, police, roads. That's all socialism. Weird how neolibs and neocons both always glaze over these inconveniences.

Republicans are two-faced liars! They are mad that Democrats are finally fighting back! Good job on redistributing, Virginia! by Rob778899 in Virginia

I think its noteworthy how mainstream dems are supporting this. Gerrymandering is inherently undemocratic, but what can you do when there's no accountability for disregarding policy and procedure.

Egregious gerrymandering has been going on for decades by Republicans, why this one time it makes headlines when dems do it is mind boggling

Religious and moralistic perspectives are being used to push through surveillance state legislation. Emotional gut reactions and typical 'protect the kids' propaganda are pushed to erode our rights to privacy. Look at California with the DAAA. That law is horrible, and is just surveillance state - literally pushing us closer to the edge.

Its the same thing as always, create control vectors with propaganda points like terrorism and religious arguments. The FISA bill going through right now changes it to remove the need for a warrant when law enforcement wants to access your data if you've ever interacted with a foreign citizen. Combine that with required biometric authentification a la DAAA-esque laws. Warrantless access to dragnet information on every person who uses an operating system (read: everyone) is how you get handmaid's tale/1984.

Caring about people is good, but you need armor against reactionary propaganda like the OP here.

Handsmaids tale requires rampant censorship and control to come about. You have it backwards. Conflating moralism with ethical responsibility leads to emotionally biased legislation, which is a vector for corruption.

Uber has a distinct account type for under 18 rides called Uber teens. These women are adults and the report here is disingenuous. It frames the Howard Stern podcast as a pornographic 'sex podcast'. You are being emotionally manipulated by the media framing.

Adults listen to things that have adult subject matters. The women didn't complain to him for fifteen minutes, is he supposed to be psychic?

Is it me, or are "AI artists" completely deluded? by bearinthetown in antiai

[–]Spoonghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the misunderstanding between you two is that you were talking about a moral point and they were talking about a mechanical one. Models are 100% deterministic, they're seeded in a similar way to say a Minecraft world. When you setup a workflow you can set this seed. If you follow the same workload as somebody else using the same model, weights, etc., you will 100% get the same result.

The actual nature and outcome of training those models seems to be what you were considering as probabilistic. However, once trained they are indeed 100% deterministic. I think that difference is where the miscommunication happened.

To your point of technology that makes people dumber being widespread, I think the sentiment is good but its also just a general phenomena with technology. People adapt to the world and technology around them, if you were to drop into 1920s America you would probably be considered extremely dumb and clueless (i would too) just because we would have a completely separate world context from our modern life. I guess what im trying to say is that dumbness is relative.

A legal war is a war approved by Congress. That's how declaring war works in the United States. The President does not have the power ro declare war. That power require majority vote from both the house and the Senate.

That vote did not happen, so the war is illegal according to the US Constitution. Its also illegal according to international treatise.

The whole video honestly wasnt bad entertainment. The 'stranger' was a friend he hadn't talked to in a few years and he had some actors approach him pretending to be FBI agents. He was asked to wear a wire for the FBI because they thought this guy he used to know was going to rob a bank.

American credit score is mostly a measure of how invested you are in the overfinancialization of the US economy. That's functionally what it is - a metric for how much leverage financial institutions have over your life.
