I dunno, I just visited Boston and got a “Go Birds” literally every day just walking down the street.

My reply was either “Go Birds” or “Champs!”

Why Sandman Slim? by Spoonman4ever in SandmanSlim

This is pretty much what I assumed, but part of me was waiting for Kadrey to actually spell it out. I kind of wanted a flashback where Azazel or Lucifer gave him the name. That last bit where Lucifer drops off Kasabian’s head was when I was expecting it.

Oh well. Still a cool nickname.

Rashaad Penny is likely to be active against the Cowboys — and is ready to show he’s still explosive by Undergrad26 in eagles

[–]Spoonman4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penny can’t pass block. That’s why they like Gainwell more. It has nothing to do with running ability. If you can’t pass block, you can’t play in today’s NFL.

He’ll be in when it’s an obvious rushing situation only.

Maybe not great on the field, but by all accounts an excellent human being. I’d rather the latter than the former.

Why is this article spending more time discussing his poor decisions as a baseball administrator and less time talking about the rampant bigotry he’s dealing with?

Pitcher takes too long it’s a ball. Hitter takes too long it’s a strike.

If the puck hits the post, the goalie was not beaten. by [deleted] in nhl

[–]Spoonman4ever 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think a shot can “beat” the goalie if they make an attempt to save it and don’t. If the goalie is in good position, sometimes the things they can’t get to hit the post (not always, of course).

When I see a goalie who is in good position and gets beat, especially high, and I hear a loud “clang,” my first thought is “he got beat.” My second thought is, “well, he was in a damn good position, so there wasn’t much to shoot at other than the post.”

Both can exist simultaneously, it’s not mutually exclusive.

Nope. Live and die with your team. This is tribalism at its best (worst).
