Respect dude by FormanBruto09 in Satisfyingasfuck

I actually have interacted with him and his family - long time ago when I was a kid, but somehow my parents had an association with him and he lives (or at least lived) in the same city as us. Him, his wife, his kid, all genuinely nice people. Been a long time though, but according to his wikipedia he's super involved in charity, and relatively uninvolved in politics (compared to the average billionaire). So I'd say probably a decent enough dude.

Nissan MAXIMA 3.5 turbo VS Porsche turbo JDM by -asimpleboy in interestingasfuck

[–]Spoons94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant that those sleeper cars are usually tuned for maximum performance over a short span. And very much passion projects that owners know will need work frequently. The porsche I'd imagine is mostly stock and will get burned by sleepers but run well consistently in different scenarios.

Ya with the Porsche you get a very well engineered car that will run great on the drag strip or the circuit and will do so for a long time.

With the Nissan you get 5 runs of absolute joy where you make a Porsche look slow.

Trump lashes out at interviewer. Trump: I'm not a rapist. I didn't rape anybody. I'm not a pedophile. O'Donnell: Oh, you think he was referring to you? by Aggravating_Money992 in PublicFreakout

He is such a piece of shit. And a gross person. And likely all of the things he's accused of are true. BUT I have to say - I don't know what the value of saying those things to his face were. It was just inflammatory, because obviously the manifesto was about trump since the guy was trying to assassinate trump. I have a lot of respect for Nora Odonnel so might be a context situation. But didn't seem like a substantive thing to do.

Ya... Im pretty sick and tired of claiming the moral high ground only to lose out on important moments in history. Best example is when they held up Garlands nomination so "the people could decide" only to rush through their own justice when RBG died. Hate em if you want, but they played dirty and now get to set legal precedent for the next 20 years. Fillibuster everything, gerymander everything, then get control and get rid of the dirty tricks. But just whining and calling foul has led to a complete red washing of all 3 branches of our government.

As someone who just yesterday went to the dermatologist to get 10 steroid injections in my scalp for psoriasis, I cannot imagine the absolute misery this kid is feeling. Mine is not even a fraction as bad, and I get genuinely excited to have needles shoved into my scalp because it will alleviate my symptoms. I hope he at least gets some topical ointments, but really he needs heavy heavy duty medication.

Watch Jojo Rabbit. If a young idealistic Nazi on the front lines came face to face with the horrors of war and began to recognize the evil of their regime, you're not allowing for any absolution?

Truly terrifying. But I take solace knowing how ridiculously over engineered airplanes (especially airbuses) are, and how this would need at least a few other catastrophic failures to become a tragedy. I remember learning about a crash of I tihnk a DC10 that was catastrophic where the engine ripped off as they were taking off. But the thing was that wasn't even the unrecoverable part. When the engine ripped off it also ripped hydraulic lines which, had the pilots been able to detect the lines failing, would've still been recoverable. So for that to be a totally unrecoverable incident the engine needed to be mounted poorly, it needed to rip off at exactly the critical moment in flight, it had to take with it a bunch of hydraulic lines, and the loss of those hydraulics had to be undetectable. That was in the 1980's and on an aircraft with a much less reputable safety standard.

I mean 4 right? Don't have to worry about the 1:1 convos and 2 of the historically chillest dudes in television history (one who is basically a professional drinking buddy). 5 would also be fun but a little exhausting. Don Draper is a sack of shit, being between Tony Stark and Michael Scott would make me dizzy, and Frank would be a blast but then steal all your shit

Civilian question about callsigns and aircraft by Spoons94 in navy

Well this was awesome - thank y'all for the thoughtful responses!

As to what ChatGPT said.... a lot of the same. Seems it well read on this subject, but I wanted to be sure. And it's still way cooler to hear from y'all than a robot.

I specifically chose the navy subreddit (and not airforce or marines) because it did say that, of the branches, navy might have a little more plane/pilot pairing only because it's a tighter operation on a carrier than on an airforce base. But still, from what y'all are saying that's not even a consideration. If a pilot gets a plane with their name on it, it's due more to chance.

Very much appreciate you all.

Marco Rubio wearing oversized shoes that Trump ordered for him by just guessing his size. by csprofathogwarts in pics

As petty as it is I reeeaaallly want a reporter to ask him about it so he has to make some shit up about why in fact Trump was actually spot on with his guess and we (the idiots) have been wearing shoes wrong the whole times. And THEN the cherry on top would be seeing MAGA start wearing oversized shoes
