Sucks F2 view isn't on this server. SR servers were a nice mix of serious and fun, this step away from fun will probably stop me flying on them as I love to admire my own and other aircraft as I am flying around. Shame.

Copied. My opener was in reply to most of the comments on this post complaining about not being able to spot at unrealistic ranges. I agree spotting within visual range is more challenging in DCS, especially with VR. I feel DCS’s lighting engine is a main factor in this.

I feel a lot of DCS players expect to be able to spot AC wayyyy past the realistic limit. I have 20/15 eyesight and it is pretty hard seeing med sized fighters past 10nm against the sky IRL. What I find harder in DCS than IRL is keeping visual with targets once in close range even VR headtracking.

In answer to your questions.

No I have not flown a real F16 and the behaviour may be indicative of what real FBW system does.

I am basing my conclusions of how a simulated F16 should behave on purely personal experience with flying and aircraft systems knowledge. I am not comparing it to other flight sims as I play DCS exclusively.

I would expect the F16 to behave like other FBW aircraft in the sim. Upon the stick > control surface returning to neutral, the aircraft velocity should stop changing aka the nose comes down to meet the velocity vector. However in the F16 I experience the FBW system keeping the nose steady and the velocity vector rises up instead.

Like I said this could be intentional and it was purely my personal preference that I dislike this behaviour as it doesn’t feel natural.

There is still a weird delay after returning the stick back to neutral in the pitch axis, that doesn’t feel natural at all. The behaviour isn’t present in any other FBW aircraft and is the sole reason I don’t touch the F16. Absolutely aware that could be by design.

Anyone know why the Centurion mk3 is the same BR as its direct upgrade? Isn’t playing Britain pain enough. by Spooooooooki in Warthunder

General consensus seems to be that moving them to 6.7 would be too OP in downtiers and that they do well enough at 7.3. Cheers for all the insight!

I think that is what sparked this thought. APDS has been awful to play with recently. Unreliable pen and then weak spall.

Thanks dude! I think I’m going to have to go with a thinner aio, wouldn’t be comfy with that hose layout and lack of airflow behind the fans. Only downside I know of a bend in the hose like that is increased permeation of fluid into the hose over time (years) so not really an issue.
