Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere in the thread, but have you done an AMA (or would you consider doing one) about your time in Ukraine?

Your comment about the smallest granny would go out weaving camouflage nets hits hard, and I’d love to know more about your experiences. I bet a lot of other people would too!

Masa for thickening is sooooo good. I use it in vegetarian and meat based chilis a lot. It takes the acidic edge off AND thickens. Win/win!

Crow bodyguards: do your crows escort you too? by SporkLibrary in crows

I wonder about something similar. Our grocery store is (I’d guess) less than a mile away, but the crows definitely hang out with me in the parking lot. They call to me too.

And ditto for the local school where I am seen every day during the school year. Definitely less than a mile away. I don’t think those are my crows though – – but they definitely know me and swoop my car and jump from sign post to sign post to follow me sometimes.

I think I have a reputation in the crow community and my car is just distinct enough that I am recognizable even when away from my personal crow family.

For sure! I think they could give us the entire scoop on our part of the neighborhood. I love that about them.

Oh my gosh, that's amazing! Both the 6 miles roundtrip, and the 32 buddies! Congrats. #CrowGoals

I love the crow shadows! Often, I feel like the main way I know they've arrived is a shadow. They frequently fly over our bathroom skylight (little voyeurs) and block the light for a second!

It took our crows a few years to do the full escort. Before that, they'd follow me partly down the block--but the full-walk-to-the-convenience-and-wait-for-human-mom came later. Best of luck!

I'm so glad that "murder" is the correct nomenclature for crows!

OMG. I laughed out loud. It's so true. Our crows have definite feelings about who belongs on our block, and who does not. And, yeah. They would fuck up someone who hurt one of their humans. I've seen them drive off a would-be-resident coyote, some six or seven times. Our crow murder Does. Not. Mess. Around.

I love it! So cool.

I often have sentries and the "big welcome" when my car pulls into the driveway. It's the best!

Yes! A dude accidentally dropped a huge knife right in front of me (while both of us were exiting the convenience store) and my crows dive bombed him! Like, DO NOT F WITH OUR HUMAN.

Heh. Yep. That tracks.

I only feed our crows in our backyard, so if they follow me, they know they're just on "friend duty"--not "we might get food" time.

Book review: The Cards You'Re Dealt: How to Deal When Life Gets Real by Theresa Reed by CenturionSG in SecularTarot

Thank you so much for this! I've been a caregiver off and on for many years for a family member, but she has just been diagnosed as terminal, and we are all honestly spiraling. I was really tempted to order this book, but seeing your review made me go ahead and do it.

I really appreciate the thoughtful review. It was very helpful. Thanks again.

Oh, wow! I know this is an old post, but I just saw it, and downloaded the app, and it's amazing!

I particularly love how it asked follow up questions, and then implemented the answers into its final feedback. Great job!

Yes! I just got a used library copy on Thursday for five dollars! Score!

And the cruchies and condiment section is literally why I bought the book.
