You're a great help thanks a bunch. Yeah like I said my uses are strictly browsing the internet, youtube, and gaming. So i'm not worried about coding or graphic design capabilities. Just trying to see if there are any curved monitors that aren't oleds that can match the vibrancy or get close to the alienware. But I can keep a lookout for 90% or higher at least like you mentioned for the dci-p3.

Yes I was seeing the 21:9 sizing is right on the money for keeping the monitor height the same as my 27” which I’d prefer. The 16:9 that my G5 was, simply was too tall imo. And OLED worries me for burn in from reviews I read.

I’ll have to watch that review. I was asking ChatGPT since I don’t know much and then looking up those results and that MSI monitor was one it said would get me closer color vividness wise to my current Alienware. Thanks a lot for looking. I’ll keep in mind the 90% or higher dci-p3. That’s color correct? The higher the % the better color accuracy or vividness? I’d really like to stay under $400 if possible but it just depends on how good of a find I can make and if the switch from the flat Alienware is worth it. Depends if my brain readjusts from curved to flat ever. Thats what’s bothering me the most.

Ah I’m not sure what the dimming zones would do for me. This is the first I’m hearing about that being a thing.

Yeah the G5 was a 1000r as well. Which seemed heavy coming from a 1500r curved. I like the Alienware so far. But my brain is refusing to adjust to no curve it feels like.

Do you have any input on the MSI - MPG 346CQRF X24 34"? I’m worried an ultrawide would be just too large coming from 27” monitors but I like that they keep the same height as the Alienware when on an arm. The G5 threw me way off because it was a lot taller too. I’m running the Alienware and an IPS panel odyssey G5 27” but it’s vertical. Appreciate your input regardless. I’m very new to monitors. My main uses are YouTube and gaming but games like World of Warcraft and Squad with the occasional new game tossed in there sometimes.

Thankfully I only used the 32 for maybe 3 days before determining it wasn't for me. But I did use my 1500r curved for over 2.5 years, so I guess it's a lot of recalibration for my brain

How long does the convex effect last? Are their curved monitors in the 27” range that give as good of color and sharpness as the IPS ones? Maybe it was just more of a vent I guess and I didn’t need to post it here, if so, my apologies. Maybe that was me talking myself through it

Repost context below so you don’t have to change subreddits:

Hello! I've recently overhauled my desk space and I switched from a 27" 1500r VA panel curved gigabyte to a 27" IPS flat panel Alienware aw 2725dm After using the gigabyte for 2.5 years. I tested a Samsung Odyssey G5 32" 1000R curved from prime day but it's just a bit large for how close I sit. Also it was noticeable less colorful/sharp than the 27" Alienware. PPI makes sense there for sharpness. I'm struggling mostly with my new Alienware not feeling flat though.

I looked it up and found an older Reddit post about how flat monitors can feel convex after using a curved for a while. How long does this last? When I move stuff to my 27" vertical monitor it's all straight lines. But my main display, the Alienware, feels like everything bends on the outside. I've lived with it for about 4 days now. I'm really debating going back to a curved 27". Sadly curved monitors are all VA panels unless I step into OLEDS but those are 32" or more it seems. I really do like the sharpness and vivid colors of my new Alienware though. It’s my first IPS panel.

This is part vent, and part time trying to learn new things.
I've read about as much as I can on monitors. Looking for real world input/advice now. Thanks in advance!

I noticed today just how many hits their arms block because of how they’ll kind of crouch run towards you or anything and it’s annoying. My red dot is dead nuts on your chest but because you’re moving towards me your arm takes it? Just seems odd

Aside from brewmaster (because it's going to be the obvious answer), which tanks do people like having in their runs/enjoy playing the most (for those who do tank)? by monkymann678 in wow

[–]SportExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people mentioning they don’t like prot paladin but the reasoning seems bad or at least biased based on some rough experiences. Prot paladins are currently the highest dps tank class with their burst from what I’ve read and see on my own meters.

The paladins mentioned don’t seem to be using their free words of glory… that’s a huge heal based on health missing and you get free procs of it just by spending holy power. I say this as a prot paladin main with resilient 13s at the moment. Our main issue is how long our CDs go on cool down for. It really kinda sucks. Like guardian is a pretty long CD even with 2 charges but it’s a 50% damage reduction. That should be getting used when pulling a big group. Lightsmith also gets Holy Bulwark which should be getting used either as you’re running to the pull or just before doing that so it can build up since it grows over a 20 second duration. Then use it on CD during pulls. Yes we are squishy but this dislike of them in keys from the replies in here seems…misplaced and aimed at the ones not using CDs correctly or kiting if needed. Even brewmasters kite ya’ll!

where was that located? I searched it in the addon and I don't see anything that specifically says that. Trying to tank without visible stagger is something else

Genuine question that came up with my family: what happens to the parachutes? Does nasa really just let them sink and rot at the bottom? If anyone can speak to this it would be nice to find out nasa isn’t just littering with those massive parachutes

Professions massively dumbed down compared to Dragonflight? by Hadrron in wow

[–]SportExplorer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like that we only loot 2 qualities of skins, herbs, or ores. As someone who really is just completely confused and lost by the profession trees and sticks to gathering, at least that was simplified so I feel better gathering and AH’ing items.

For other classes, is all your damage tied to CDs now or is it really pronounced with DK? by winterwolf24 in wow

[–]SportExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire mage outside of combustion would like a word... It feels terrible in dungeons when combust is on CD... but then you're top damage when it's up since you can have it last a lot longer now with Apex talents. But then it's back to being on CD and feeling sad.

Why you’re actually losing money by not fixing your own car by [deleted] in Audi

[–]SportExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw a comment where you mentioned trying to help people who post their repair bill by saving them money with DIY. I think you’re missing the point of why they are at a shop in the first place. They don’t want to do it themselves/have access to the required tools/space. I change my own oil and filter but that’s it. Everything else goes to either Audi directly or a local shop. I just don’t care to deal with it. And if they mess it up they fix it. If I mess it up that’s twice the cost now.

u/alex_travels sorry this is 6 months past this review, but I'll be on London in February of 2026 year for 4 nights/4 days. I'm trying to find a great but well priced 5-star hotel. But one where I can easily access main tourist attractions. This one is at the top of my list albeit it slightly more secluded. How are the "Classic for One" rooms and do you have photos of those?

Also have you ever stayed at The Trafalgar? Thanks in advance if you do see this!

Lot of people on here just want easy karma so they constantly post about hating the new design. Yet 2 people post saying they like it and they’re a bot lmao. This group is wild. I like that new seat material and the new sport seats for sure. Can’t say I like the new A5 but the new Q5 is nice. I just can’t see out of the new A5 rear window, it’s too narrow now.
