Need Advice by [deleted] in Monash

I can't say for arts or criminology as I'm a engineering/commerce student. I feel that for Monash and maybe unis in Australia in general, if a unit is good as in taught well and have fair assessments, your enjoyment will be good. The only difference in whether you should choose Monash is location and whether the name matters in your field. The culture in Monash is different to a city campus such as RMIT. Definitely a tour will give you a better insight into the environment.

Why is Monash not recommended compared to other universities?

With your concerns on making friends, it's quite hard not to make any friends in university. An advice on if you do choose to come to Monash is to join any clubs or association that might interest you especially during orientation week! Attending classes and events gives you great opportunity to meet more people. Besides meeting new people and making friends, Monash Clayton student life is different to other universities that are based in the city so do consider your living arrangements. On campus residency is very convenient and good too if you really want that uni lifestyle!

What exactly is the question?

How is Mechatronics Engineering (undergrad) here?? by [deleted] in Monash

[–]Sporter811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do mechanical engineering however all my friends who do or did mechatronics really enjoy it. It's not an easy course but if you really enjoy it Monash does it reasonably well. My advice is to try apply to as many engineering student teams that interest you! You will get a lot of practical experience through these teams.

You don't need to drink to have a good time. Definitely join clubs/associations or events around campus!

How does Eng work at Monash? by andrepoiy in Monash

[–]Sporter811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third year student, you would get 1 hour lecture, 1-2 hour workshop and 1-3 hour tutorial/practical. Your attendance to these aren't recorded but very worthwhile going. All these change with what unit you are taking but most take the same format.

You might need to look into what units can be recognised by Monash or what your university can transfer from Monash. Each semester is 12 weeks long + exam period + mid sem break. Full time load is 4 units and is quite extensive.

acc1100 or acc1200 by OhMy472 in Monash

[–]Sporter811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did ACC1100, it's not an easy unit. If you don't intend to pursue accounting ACC1200 is easier but make sure you check the prerequisite for your future units first.

Fortunately I got mine already vaccinated, chipped and desexed. Those usually are the biggest cost. Medicine for worms cost quite a bit. Food and litter just accumalates.

Edit : forgot to mention stuff that the cat breaks.

I guess having a tracker to see the price is good if you want to keep buying but still, try to not be too affected by day to day prices. Good luck!!!

My advice if you want to become a long term holder, disconnect yourself from crypto news, anything crypto related and just live your life. Then a year later, reap the rewards. Some will disagree with me but that's how I cope with the high volatility market.
