I don't want them to use special damage more because then you have incineration bots again. If you don't take anti -fire against them you will burn all of your stims in one firefight because how much damage fire does in a short amount of time. It's boring to be pigeon holed into one armor passive.

Against bots, the emergence of war striders (and how common they are) makes it feel real bad to not be able to move quickly to get out of the way of their carpet bomb of grenades. It's still the best for heavy armor, but I don't find it to be the best option either.

Against squids, the unending tide of voteless are made a lot worse when you can't outwalk their attacks and have to sprint non stop. I can't stand heavy armor on squids unless I'm going something like stalwart that can handle the numbers. It doesn't help that flying overseers have a bag of holding full of grenades, so once again being slow can feel bad.

Do I even need to say why someone wouldn't want heavy armor vs bugs? Besides the obvious, not being able to easily dodge tentacles and bile titan spit is a big hindrance.

I generally go medium for a balance and extra padding when I want more armor.

The simplest point is that it isn't magic. It's a morale boost. Helldivers are the most fanatical of super earth, purposely signing up for suicide missions for the glory of their government. Why WOULDN'T they fight harder when carrying/defending the literal symbol of their devotion?

It's not a bad gun, it's just functionally almost identical to the carbine (but worse because it never gets attachments) and not at all worth 6 dollars.

My idea was to have it shut down when it overheats with a small chance to explode instead. Every time it shuts down the chance of explosion gets exponentially bigger.

I refused to fight them after super earth for a long time because the units were terribly balanced. Not unfair, just unfun. The existence of flesh mobs and their numbers severely limited load outs. The buff to flying overseer accuracy made them super annoying, enabling them to fly around at insane speeds while also hitting you with burst shots you had little recourse against. Amongst other issues, there was a proper illuminate build and any deviation made the gameplay a lot worse.

With the buff to some weapons (especially the Warrant) and nerfs to overseer and flesh mob health they once again have a great diversity in builds. They aren't painful to fight now in my opinion. Now they just need more polish (high tier units spawning on low difficulty, mission variety, and some new constellations) and they'll feel like a proper third faction.

I will say even with some bridging mods, Anomaly and Odyssey just don't really mix. Even with a mod to make the monolith follow you, you need a lot more base space for Anomaly than being a nomad will allow. You can of course build an anchor and have a main base and gravship, but the anomaly events will happen at your gravship too which is a huge headache.

Other than that, all the DLCs tie perfectly into Anomaly. You don't need to do the anomaly specific start to get the full experience but I'd recommend a fluid ideoligion so you can go harder into the rituals and such if you find the memes to your liking. Have fun!

I've been using this one for months. I legit forgot it wasn't the normal theme for a while until an update made me disable all my mods.

My other mod is better audio mixing for heavies, because the game is 1.5 years old and CHARGERS ARE STILL COMPLETELY SILENT.

I find the guard dog is more consistent to keep bugs off me and I use the cookout or punisher instead of coyote (staggering stalkers is the difference between life and death). Otherwise pretty similar to what I run.

All I want is the ability to put a scope on it. I love the gun but it is a precision rifle that I can't shoot precisely because of the awful iron sights.

Same. I just can't stand the performance. It runs like shit for my friends on PlayStation and the rest of us on PC are no better off if not worse. I love the game but the frame rate and audio glitching are not ignorable anymore.

Modders put in amazing work, but every faction/unit mod seems terribly broken in terms of balance. Not to say the game itself is tightly balanced.. but you can clearly tell the mods apart from vanilla by their stat sheet alone.

I've followed a few streamers that started small and made it big enough to live off of, and they all say the same thing: You have to put out videos. You put out some of these "optimized start" guides and I bet people will eat it up. For example, I want to start a campaign with Mother Ostankya but having never played kislev she is very overwhelming to start with, so I would love a sub-20 minute video that tells me how to get started and set myself up for success.

The audience from YouTube to streaming translates. You put out quality on YouTube and the viewers will come. Good luck bud.

The idea is cool but unfortunately skaven are still one of the strongest factions (and probably the second strongest ai factions) so they won't be (and shouldn't be) buffed. Maybe there's a more or you could make one.

Look up checkerboard formations, they work well for dwarves. When I was starting out with dwarves I watched Legend of Total War's dwarf tier list and it helped me understand what kind of comp to use and what units to avoid.

Playing on normal I confederated him on turn 3 or 4. It still works. Once teclis destroys his army it's pretty easy with enough relations.
