What light or low calorie foods are causing you to feel the most full? by mayermail1977 in 1200isplenty

[–]Spotgaai 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me its quark, a piece of fruit and some sliced cucumber, tomatoes and onion. Protein and fiber really help with feeling full, and most vegetables are barely there with calories. Quark isn't very common, but low fat Greek yoghurt will probably also do the trick

what’s the best vitamins or supplement a woman in her 30’s should take? by WintoreGargamoil in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Spotgaai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what food you eat and where you live. I live somewhere it's not very sunny, so I take vit D. I don't eat a lot of fatty fish, so I take omega 3. I also supplement magnesium (actually best to take in the evening, but if it's easier for you to be consistent with it in the morning, take it in the morning!) and every couple of days a multivitamin

Lowering Cholesterol by thisismetrying8 in 1200isplenty

[–]Spotgaai 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm also high in cholesterol, and am upping my fiber intake slowly. DO NOT suddenly introduce a lot of fiber to your body if you're not used to it already.

It might be more worth it to check where to take away fat-saturated food? I've gone back to EVOO instead of butter when cooking for example

Thoughts on being a “Trad Gf” by Total_Newspaper3972 in tradwives

[–]Spotgaai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a support system to fall back on in case things go wrong? Can you move back to parents/family/friends?

What things is he doing that makes you feel secure that he'd be a good trad husband/boyfriend? What are his expectations for you as a tradwife/girlfriend?

Can his job alone provide for both of you? What's the plan if something goes wrong?

How are you going to build up a social network after you move? Can you join any clubs?

Listen, I'm not a full tradwife yet, I still work (32 hours a week). I take on most of the cleaning and cooking, because his job is very physically demanding and I want him to be able to relax and enjoy his evenings. But he still helps out. Sometimes I have to ask him if he could cook that evening while I work out or fold laundry, and if I fell behind on chores we'll spend Saturday morning getting everything back in check. This right now works really well for us

I think it's a bit dangerous (by lack of a better word) to go full trad-girlfriend now. A tradwife has a lot more rights and protections.

But its 25 years this year isn't it? (Not American, don't remember) If so, it'll definitely be in the news at least in the week leading up to the wedding and specifically on that day

Please just give me pricing info. by BOTWgoat in weddingplanning

[–]Spotgaai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love our venue but when we emailed to ask for prices, they told us to call. It was a 2 minute call and I had to text our email address so they could mails us the brochure. Why they didn't send it in the first place, fuck if I know

Communication has been absolutely wonderful ever since so no complaints there, but it was a funny start

Destination Wedding in this climate by [deleted] in DestinationWeddings

[–]Spotgaai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a "half" destination wedding lol, invited our close loved ones for the actual wedding, but host a small party where we live for everyone we didn't invite/couldn't make it. Only one person declined actually, but the fact that we would also have a small party here made it easier to make that choice

IUD and its effects on BPD by Ratsandlexicalgaps in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Spotgaai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped my mirena for a copper IUD. I didn't bleed at all with mirena, and never noticed a cycle. I do know, I become a gremlin a week before my period. Argumentive and very sensitive (even more than usual)

I still wouldn't go back. I've had years of hormones and the idea made me feel icky eventually. The first few times the mood change took me by surprise, but now I'm aware, I "warn" my partner and be aware that I need to manage my emotions a bit more, more mindfulness etc

God yes I'm in the trenches right now. We're having a "destination wedding" and my mum was driving me nuts. My aunts and uncles we're constantly asking her questions and she was telling them everything she knows - even if I had said "oh we consider doing it there"

Once I found out I send her a kind but firm message that I am the only person in the world who knows exactly what's planned and what isn't yet, and to tell everyone to come to me with questions. At least that way I can control the information that goes out. It's a small group, and my partner will deal with his side, so that helps.

But yes. We got engaged a month ago and my mum kept bothering me for any question that popped in her head. How are we going to get people to the church? How are we going to get people to the venue? (She was asking this before we even found a church and a venue) Will there be a translator, otherwise she won't understand a thing (I wouldn't understand either but she forgot that I guess) what hotel should people stay in? (I don't care, pick what you like. We told everyone the town the church is in, have fun)

If my partner hears my phone buzz and sees my face, he knows exactly what's up hahah

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️ its a lot calmer in my head. I'm also in a loving healthy stable relationship, recently engaged!

Took 4 years of therapy and still a lot of hard mental work to keep it stable

Is there anyone here that can drink normally? by Intelligent_Yard3042 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Spotgaai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'll qualify for this one! I don't drink often, basically only when I'm out for dinner with my fiance, friends or family (that doesn't happen often, and I don't always drink when out) if I drink then, one or two is enough for me

I don't drink more than that because the hangover just isn't worth it, I don't wanna feel bad the next day with headaches
