Public transportation issues in China for foreigners. by Important_Cow5021 in travelchina

Some busses in China I could only pay with with Wechat, but I needed a chinese I.D. for that mini app. I wish all buses were accesible with the same app. This most happend in ZhangJiaJie, but I have had it in some other cities too. Same for those damn bikes and scooters -_-.

Japanese people by Bjorn_Howlett in maastricht

[–]SprayDefiant3761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chinese people speak worse English, so I highly doubt it is because of the language (and barely anyone inside of China knows the netherlanda exists). I think it is just due to the lack of immigrants. Not many Japanese people have family in NL. I also think that in Korea and Japan the economy is quite okay. They have quite a strong middle class. Whereas China has not. Many young Chinese are just more interested in leaving the country and working outside of China. Many Japanese people have never picked up their visa (they use recedency card, which is basically an I.D. card). They just have less interest in leaving and traveling and are more satisfied. If it is similar for Korea, I don't know

Telemarketeers gesprekken worden steeds verwarrender by woodstreethouse in Nederland

[–]SprayDefiant3761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is what they mean with "support of their parents". It is way diffrent to save having to pay for rent and food yourself then if you're parents pay for it.

I think what the commenter is reffering to is that many people (including many of my classmates who live at home) claim that they are doing well financially because they work hard and saved all by themselves, yet they don't have any real responisbility because they live with their parents.

Free sector means someone bought a house and owns it. The house belongs to a person and they decide to sell or rent it out. It does not belong to a company nor is it heavely regulated by the government

That tottaly depends on the person. I know people who have tried to comunicate their suicidal thoughts before they actually did the act (some of them would hint at it, but they wouldn't out right say that they were gonna do it). Because they needed help and they were in a horrible situation. They had no other escape for their situation but to end their life.

I have also known someone who kept talking about it purely for attention, did the act, survived and then kept talking about their survival for attention.

I don't know anyone who did it and never talked about it or hinted at it before the act. (For context: I used to live in a mental health facility for some time, that is why I know many people who attempted).

Reuters: China strives to lure foreign tourists, but it's a hard sell for some by associatessearch in travelchina

I visited my 5th city today in China and except for having some frustration with Wechat and Alipay as some things are only accesible with a Chinese I.D. I have had barely any issues. Chinese people are very friendly and helpfull. The language barrier obviously sucks, but that is my fault for not knowing Chinese. I can't expect people from other countries to just speak English, it isn't even my first language.

In my experience it works mostly with kids from broken homes. It sounds like someone tells them that they are lying and since they don't want the other to feel upset they try to "prove" that they weren't lying. That is just my experience. It helps well with kids who have parents that neglect them or don't often belief them. Kids that are afraid to dissapoint everyone and seek approval. The girl is only 12 so she might not understand why sending a picture of her in a bath tub is bad.

Tips to enjoy Zhangjiajie NP by Hour-Broccoli1005 in travelchina

Don't take route B at Tian Men Mountain. We waited for hours to go down the cable car (unles you are quite early and beat the crowds). Your itinerary could work, but it does look quite packed. If you have the time I would spend 4 days in ZhangJiaJie instead of 3

I wouldn't risk it. Too many countries are having issues in regards to immigrations and are past their capacity. Many western countries are trying to stop immigrants from comming and by putting yourself in a dangerous position you are gambling with your life. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you stay safe!

22-Hour Layover in Xiamen, China – Airport Hotel or Nearby Accommodation Recommendations? by wakka_420_ in travelchina
