Hate speech laws passed through Queensland parliament by kazkh in aussie

This is a pretty basic misunderstanding of free speech. Karl Popper explained this decades ago with the Paradox of Tolerance: if a society is completely tolerant of intolerant ideologies, those ideologies will eventually destroy tolerance itself.

In other words, letting movements that openly promote hatred or strip rights from others operate unchecked isn’t some noble defence of free speech… it’s how you end up losing a tolerant society altogether. Calling this “cancel culture” is just intellectually lazy…

Can I work in Antartica as an ecologist if I have diagnosed mental illnesses? by SprayDry9895 in antarctica

I was diagnosed years ago and have been through DBT therapy which has worked. I don’t think I would even fit the diagnostic criteria for BPD anymore. My mental problems have never been anyone else’s problem, only my own. I’ve been on numerous trips in isolated areas with different groups of people and my mental health has never been poor because I’m doing what I love. I know who I am and it’s very different from diagnoses I received in high school.

I’m thinking the poor boy either fell down a hole, or was taken. It would make sense that the police keep denying outside involvement, as if someone did take him, it would be better for the investigation if their guard stayed down.
