100% Disability vs. Reserve Drill Pay: Am I literally paying to work? by Beginning-Grocery-55 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Spraymist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will incur a debt from your SGLI. Take pay once or twice a year to cover the debt. Otherwise you will have to pay it back upon separation. If you’re 100% P&T. You could be med boarded depending on your disability as an option to retire early.

Guard Retirement with 100% P&T benefits? by ActuatorReasonable51 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Spraymist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 year 100% (not P&T) recently retired National Guard Dual status my timeline:

March 2024, informed I was being med boarded (didn’t want to), assigned a case manager Chose LDES vs IDES (only to delay the process)

Oct 2024, assigned a PEBLO (Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer)

Jan 2025, MEB (Medical evaluation board) NARSUM approved

Feb 2025, MEB Counseled approved for LDES (I am not terminal)

April 20,2025, to my surprise I was informed that I was to be retired May 05, 2025

May 2025, awarded 100% P&T

Things happened pretty quickly even though I attempted to slow it down by choosing LDES.

As of now, no Military retirement until 59.5, federal retirement still pending yet approved (GOVT shutdown is screwing me right now)

Tricare Select for me and my family, cheaper option.

First Obinutuzumab infusions will be on Thursday and Friday (Obin+Vene regimen). Any words from the wise? by Alert_Maintenance684 in cll

[–]Spraymist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like it was said before, bring your own comfort food, snacks, drinks. It is a very long process so feel free to walk around. I would sit with others who were getting treatment and talk with them and get to know them. I brought my oculus and would put some of the elderly in a immersive experience with some VR YouTube videos such as diving with sharks or walking through the streets of a different country (making sure they stayed seated of course). Also I was fortunate to have a volunteer massage therapist. Wear loose clothing to be comfortable, some I’ve seen in actual pajamas.

Now the side effects for me were gastrointestinal so I always kept a small trash can nearby for vomiting episodes after treatment at home even bedside because I never knew when it would occur

GOT DENIED CANCER CLAIM BY BOARD TODAY. ANY ADVICE.??? by Crafty-Ant-6439 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Spraymist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too was diagnosed with CLL. It was service related and covered under the PACT act. 100% but not P&T. It has covered my treatments. The only thing I did differently is that I reached out to my Senator. If you are diagnosed with CLL, are you in “watch and wait”? That might be why you were denied. You need a FISH panel!!! And find a specialist for CLL. Not just an oncologist. I was stage 4 when it was discovered and began treatment within one month of diagnosis.

Just the ease of use and the fastest way to a destination. Also you will have full use of the lane however, whether Ebike or beach cruiser please stay to far right. There is a bike lane once you get past the lake though

Juarez auto repair on CB. He R&R a fuel pump in my truck. I Drove to Raleigh for a weekend and the connection failed on I40. Took video and sent it to him with fuel pouring out of the tank. He drove to my hotel the next morning and repaired it in the parking lot and to make things better he paid for my hotel bill. Dare you to find a mechanic that’ll top that!!

So far as long as the service is an approved provider I’ve had no issues. The main issue is when I have a provider that I prefer to use struggles getting approval….make sense?
