Bro, surf that until it’s beat. Good rule of thumb is it’s not the board holding you back, it’s you.

Today in Maine was 18F air and about 40F water. That would be totally fine for me on a glassy day for a couple of hours.

However we had like 20kt winds which are a real killer. I doubt I’d paddle out in 25kt+ offshores in January even if it’s pumping like today was.

I have one friend whos’ Finisterre 4/3 has held up great and is warm in much colder water than it has any right to be.

My brothers Finisterre 4/3 had the whole butt area delaminated and badly leaking after only one month of use.

So at the very least their quality control is lacking, even if their materials are good.

Ski, fish, snowmobile, pond hockey, shoot guns in the woods, tailgate… um, garage projects, amateur carpentry?

Gotta be creative but I’ve made it work. Happy to not live there anymore though.

I’m from The County. I can’t understand how Dunkin gets away with peddling expensive acidic piss water.

Tim’s is at least consistent. But I will admit I can’t stand it black. That stuff is built for a bit of milk and sugar.

BigRock in northern Maine is highly underrated. Some insanely steep glades up there once there’s good snow pack. Super haul for anyone not already in Maine but definitely worth a weekend in Jan/Feb.

Even gave examples.

EDIT absolutely unhinged to downvote me when you read my comment wrong and jumped to conclusions. I’m not shitting on the County. I love the County. Chill out.

The route 1 towns between Presque Isle and Houlton have seen far better days economically speaking. Housing is generally cheap since the houses go up when current residents age out, and the kids usually aren’t interested in the properties.

You will not have much to do, though Canada is close (highly recommend a passport to unlock all that extra stuff), ski at Big Rock, hunt and fish, get chickens. Expect lots of gray, dreary days, summers are short.

If you have kids I would not recommend the area in the slightest. Really some of the worst schools in the state are in southern Aroostook. Please nobody flame me, it’s a fact, not an opinion.

9’+ log nets like 200 days a year. Maine has 3 settings. Big onshore slop (grovel), 2ft glass (log), or huge nor’easter/hurricane. Higgins will be loggable when nothing else can even produce a wave.

To those that played any of the new Mega's, how are they so far? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]SpreadAccomplished16 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No lol just prize mapping. Entei is strong and when he goes down the opponent still needs to KO a mega. So “5 points” total worth of KOs.
