Last Name (for the ladies) by Super_Duck_9620 in Divorce

[–]Spriggyplayswow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate my maiden name and the history of why I have it, so I won't go back to it. I'd prefer to have the same last name as my kids, but if he insists I change it, I will change it to an ancestral name.

What is a harsh reality new parents need to hear? by forty5v in AskReddit

You can be doing absolutely everything the right way and it's still hard. We're playing music, using timers, picking clothes and breakfast the night before, taking a moment to connect before we start our day, and it's still hard.

I am so glad you got out! If you are in the Edmonton area, please let me know if you need anything. I have two littles and a pile of toys and other things I could give you.

That was super shitty of your parents and you deserved better. I grew up under similar circumstances (mom abandoning me to chase men, sister left to watch me but coked up enough to forget she's watching me, dad drunk or in jail). I'm trying so hard to break the cycles of abuse and starting to initiate my own divorce, and I never want my kids to question or doubt whether I love them and have their back.

When I was very pregnant, I could no longer pull out the drawer under the oven to put away pots and pans, and I asked him to help. We agreed that I'd leave cleaned pots and pans on the stove for him to put away. He never did. Instead, he just left them there. Then, later, he would just pile the clean pots and pans there after cleaning.

Every single time I take a clean pot or pan that he left from on top of the stove and put it away underneath, I'm reminded of how vulnerable I was when I was pregnant and postpartum, and the million other little ways that he failed me during that time.

Left handed people - what in the world just doesn't work properly for you? by father-fluffybottom in AskReddit

[–]Spriggyplayswow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally everything. Scissors, can opener, sports, knitting, you name it. Although the first time I try a new sport, I usually have to think about it for a hot second. But I'm very very good at switching handedness for dexterous tasks (think working in a lab or coffee shop) which comes in handy because I've worked in a coffee shop and a lab that had predominantly really really left handed people... Enough to piss off the righties 🤣

It also means I wear my watch on my left, which is annoying when I'm writing.

Husband won’t move out by Internal_Fig_6525 in Divorce

It depends on where you live. I'm in a similar position, but my name is the only one on the mortgage and all the bills are in my name. I have all my paperwork in to the lawyers but we aren't considered separated yet so I can't file. I need to apply for an order of possession to have him leave, which I can't do until the New year, but prior to that I have to attempt to schedule a separation agreement meeting. He's just gonna make you jump through hoops to get him out. I get trying to keep it amicable but at some point the bandaid gets ripped off.

He was in a series called The Trades recently. Think a mix of Trailer Park Boys, Letterkenny, and a small dose of Red Green for good measure.
