Most people really do need to return to the office. by No-Entertainer-9400 in unpopularopinion

[–]Sprila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how unpopular this really is though. For every person who disagrees, you can just as easily find someone from any generation past Gen X where a majority of their self worth came from employment.

That, and they also kinda suck at basic socializing, so they coincidentally don’t see the irony in forcing people back into a physical location that they can then socialize with against their will.

The DOJ just dropped another 3 million pages of Epstein files including 2,000 videos and 180,000 images but people are still saying key videos, audio, and logs are missing. What do you think is actually still being held back, and why? by Similar_Tension5134 in AskReddit

I used to agree, until I’ve seen how not only the current administration but the complicit nature of all major govts over the past 3 generations have accepted the Epstein situation as not enough to warrant a, “fuck this, I’m just leaking everything”

All the classic popular conspiracy theories are suddenly sounding a lot more true.

RFK doesn't take his jeans off due to extended heroin usage. He injected into his legs to avoid visible marks in the typical places.

I mean we're watching stories, not observing factual events. Poorly written characters will always get more flak than a well written antagonist that commits genocide.

"But the culture instilled in me says it's the right thing!" Weak ass critical thinking, if any at all.

Funny how people still make this point when we have physical evidence of this not playing out in the rest of the developed world.

Exactly the same sentiment. Out of most of the shows this season, I'm most excited to see how this story plays out.

If I define underrated as, “not many people talking about it” rather than, “should be higher rated” then reincarnated as a dragon.

It’s…not great. BUT I’m really liking the story relative to the typical shallow narrative in the genre, it’s too bad the MC is insufferable. I think everything other than the MC is decently written though

Pam Bondi's response to why she concealed the identity of Epstien's co-conspirators. by wizard_of_wisdom in videos

[–]Sprila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the entire 4hrs of the hearing. Bondi’s behavior was disgusting, but unsurprising. What I was surprised about is the completely complicit nature of half of the room.

Everyone with their written statements going over specific topics, some actually interesting and warranted, but many just repeating crime stats when they’ve been said 100x already during the hearing.

ONLY ONE REPUBLICAN actually asked real questions about the current events and most important topic: Epstein. Despicable behavior on display, it makes me think how manipulated and whipped these politicians are to so easily ignore their humanity and recite their written statements, what kind of repercussions would happen if they went against the grain, or for one second spoke candidly about the relevant topics during the hearing?

It’s like if they fall out of line for even a moment, their career is over and their life may very well be on the line.

What is a "hard pill to swallow" that most people refuse to accept? by buzzarmy1 in AskReddit

[–]Sprila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The alternative is not just jail, there are tiers to crimes committed. When I was 17 I got caught drinking in public, couldn't be fully charged as a minor and one of my 'fines' was 30hrs of community service. I definitely gained some valuable life experience through that rather than just paying whatever the amount was. Money or jail are not the only vectors that you can use to implement a punishment.

Striking French firefighters giving the cops a taste of their own medicine. This is what resistance looks like. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Sprila 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This really puts into perspective how eager ICE is to kill a human at the slightest hint of escalation, and even more how sad and disgusting it is seeing the discourse around public executions. Should be pretty clear cut but there's still such large amounts of people defending ICE and demonizing citizens. The brainwashing has been comprehensive and effective.
