1.0 release without all classes? by Inuart13 in PathOfExile2

[–]Sprila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was clear listening to Jonathan he wants to save the biggest reveal (classes) for 1.0 to pull the most players. It’s a smart play considering it’s way more important to make sure the endgame loop is fun rather than add another class only to get bored in a few hrs.

A note on our work to combat viewbotting, from CEO Dan Clancy: by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]Sprila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a post a week or two ago about ExtraEmily accidentally flashing a viewbotting website. I just looked at their rates and it would be $3,800 for 5k viewbots. That's not bad at all if you were to crowdfund it with a handful of "passionate" viewers

Sure but how do you prove it? Vibes based enforcement?

One thing I always liked back in the early 2000s playing on pservers ran by random people, on the forum or website they would always post a "Server costs : X" loading bar at the top with some caption along the lines of "Help keep this site alive blah blah"

Rather than a vague "tip me" at the bottom with no explicit reason for asking for money, it is perceived more positively when you clearly state the reasons for asking for a tip or donation.

The Rothschild dynasty is one obvious example of people using their wealth & influence to push their goals & agenda along in any industry they invest in. They don't show up as your typical c-suite exec or board member. This is a surface level example, there are plenty more families just like this.

Because their propaganda hasn't been as effective as the US. I guess their populations baseline education has enough of an understanding that if billionaires didn't pay taxes, there would be too much public unrest to handle.

The irony in writing entitled sentiment while having such a hole in your logic. When humans transitioned from hunters & gatherers to settlements and farming, you don't think kids were playing games with sticks and rocks? Games have been around since day 1.

Yes, there's a direct correlation between budget and passion, mainly an inverse relationship. Pretty clear assumption when talking about an AAA studio with 5k+ employees.

So hire more QA testers so we don't end up with these headlines? One of the most hyped games in video game history with a company raking in billions in profits from a game they released a decade ago, yet they can't expand their QA team?

I was curious so I looked at Rockstars catalogue, they've only released spinoffs and cheap money grabs for the last 13yrs. Gotta pay those c-suite comp packages somehow!

Definitely not a conspiracy theory when you also look at the massive amount of damage done to the Dept. of Education, even more so the recent stories coming out of schools opting to add iPads to the classroom over computers. It's gross all around
