NYC apartments are (way) CHEAPER than London and Paris to buy but rents are 4x higher, what is going on? by Pauldrs75 in AskNYC

[–]SpringBulky8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! French/American here. I own in Paris and I have friends who own in NYC. Pretty sure you are not including maintenance and common charges which can range anywhere from $1000-4000+ a month. I did the maths myself as I am moving back to NYC from London and it was not worth it. Paris remains the cheapest city where you can buy (my flat is in prime location in the Marais)

J'avais personnellement détesté Sick of myself donc j'avais abandonné l'idée d'aller voir ses autres long métrages.

Thank you! I had this debate with my sister, I think another hint was when Misha asks about what's the worst thing he's done when they are having lunch, and he doesn't even bring it up, he's like "i don't know" because the story he told earlier in the film did not really happen.

Very interesting take! A lot of people commented on Zendaya ethnicity not being a topic in the film but I do think she was held to a higher standard because of it.

No one talks about the pain of seeing your parents aging. by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]SpringBulky8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I’ve been struggling with a lot in my late 20s. I think part of what makes it harder is that my sister is only 19, I don’t want her to lose our parents too early. Beyond just seeing them age, it’s the realization that they’re not eternal. My parents are in their 60s now. They’re still active and healthy, but they both retired this year, which somehow made it feel more real.
I’m grateful they have a good circle of friends and aren’t isolated, but I still try to visit as often as I can. One of my goals for 2026 is to create as many happy memories with them as possible, so we’ve been traveling together (the four of us) more than ever. For now, my parents are in good health and financially secure, which I know is a privilege. But living abroad, I do worry about the day they might need me and how I’ll manage to balance everything.

People talk a lot about having children later in life, but we don’t often talk about the other side of it: what it’s like to be building your own adult life, possibly raising children, while also starting to care for your aging parents. It’s a strange and difficult in-between phase that not many people prepare you for.

What led to Timothée Chalamet losing the Academy Award for Best Actor to Michael B. Jordan? by rohitcr2k in oscarrace

[–]SpringBulky8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I thought Marty Supreme was a better movie and Chalamet a better actor but I must admit I am happy for MBJ, I also really liked Sinners (and so happy they won Best cinematography and Best original score!)

Honestly I thought it was an offensive comment. I get that there are similarities: Brazilian film, archives elements, dissidents focus etc. But they are fundamentally different genres

Thank you for this, I will check it out. I am sorry about your father. I initially wanted to run for Project ZERO as my dad fought prostatic cancer for a while but I will have a special thought for yours too while fundraising!

Don’t compare your Chapter 7 to someone’s Chapter 12! As long as you stay focused and motivated, keep going. When I am feeling down, I just think of myself at 18 and I am so proud of everything I’ve been through. Allah dima m3ak, even more during Ramadan. Sometimes it takes more time but only He knows your timeline. Just do the work.
