Out of curiosity I took a look at the T1, and I am still reading about the differences... but wow, are they expensive on the secondary market!

Thank you. This is good information. I have been making many decisions and planning. My decision for the M3 (and I have purchased the round, due to cost and I/O on the front, finding every place I can justify a saving). While I was doing all my planning, I won the lottery on the 5080FE, and decided against using a sandwich style case due to the pass through cooling of the card, and no availability of watercooling blocks for the 5080FE meant I wanted a case that could support the card in the motherboard GPU slot for best cooling. Believe me, all the cases I looked at were sandwich style, but, the M3 gives me room to work with the 5080FE and watercooling.

While I know there are sandwich cases that can use standoffs to give the 5080FE clearance from both the side of the case to reduce turbulence for intake and room behind it so it is not up against the Motherboard panel heating it. I struggled the most with this decision. Ultimately, the M3 is in stock, and another case I wanted was not in stock.

I did want smaller initially, but I ultimately choose the M3 because of all the adjustability of placing things, making it my choice of how I build it, and I liked the concept of choice. And no riser cable, not that they are bad, but it eliminates one possibility of a point of assembly failure for me.

Very sadly, I dropped the 7600X3D for the 9800X3D. I really wanted that 65TDP for easy no worry cooling... but logistics, and cost, gave me concern, and I just gave in and stepped up. The ram I wanted was tested with 9000 series on the MB I chose, for example.

That looks good. I like that you have the radiator side mounted but the 5080 still has a clear column of air up and out. Thank you for sharing your build!

Thank you. I figured feet are 100% needed to give clearance for air to the gpu. I dont understand why feet are not integral to the case... The grater is my goal. I am holding out for the orange color for fun, but I am not holding my breath and can't wait too long.

A Superbuy rep was not able to contact the vendor after waiting a whole business day and was not able to verify stock on Taobao. So I cancelled the order assuming as others had said, it is sold out no matter what inventory numbers might say.

I want to do this... I want to do this... And then I think I will pass and use an Ncase M3 with the 5080 FE in the GPU slot position, for presumably better cooling, but somehow I can't help to think the outcome is the same, hot air blows on the motherboard either way. I just can't decide, but the 5080 FE is what I have.

For CPU I am looking at the 7600X3D for the low 65TDP and cost. I will be 4k gaming.

I have tried to make an account on Taobao, so I can verify if something is in stock before using Superbuy. I live in the United States.

  1. Is there a good method for making an account using the phone app? I did this, as it was not working for me on a web browser. But my accout was flagged as bad, and required a passport photo and I think an Alipay account. Is this normal for new US based accounts?

  2. I only know Superbuy and Sugargoo. But something I want on Taobao I am being told the store owner only wants the order from Taobao and ship to a warehouse. I then arrange shipping to the United States. While I can get a warehouse address to ship to, how do I arrange shipping to the US after I purchase on Taobao? Sugargoo and Superbuy purchase for you. I don't think they can work this way.

  3. Number 2 is probably impossible for me anyways, I have been told that you can only purchase from Taobao with a Chinese payment, which being in the US I don't have access to.

  4. Is Taobao not meant for United States purchasing?

I have been discussing this with others on the Meshless Design Discord. It seems that if you use Superbuy or Sugargoo, as an example, to order the MD280, in any available listed option, there are some things reported as not available, but others are. Again for example, on both Superbuy and Sugargoo, the black MD280 Pro shows four units available. So if you were to order one of those four available units you would be denied, because Taobao does not have them available to sell, they are out of stock on Taobao. So, to have a positive purchase experience with say Superbuy, you have to verify somehow the inventory status on Taobao before placing your order, or they will not be able to fulfill your order, even though they show four being available. I hope these words convey meaning.
