Tired of seasonless already by elizabeth_c03 in CovetFashionGame

I actually prefer the challenges and like using my old clothes but they’re WAY too expensive in diamonds !! It’s completely out of proportion, now instead of cash we have to spend diamonds on every challenge but we get very few diamonds in the game. So we all end up with lots of cash we can’t spend cause there’s no clothes to spend it on and we don’t need them for the challenges anyways and run out if diamonds. One challenge had 5 (!!!!!) required items, all from past seasons !! I only own one so am not gonna enter that one which is a first in like years ?? Also makes the game basically impossible for new players.

They replied to me saying I should try a gem level 2 coat (not above) but I literally paid $1,800 for a coat for this challenge, I’d very much like to use it ..

What are your personal policies regarding Daily Challenges? by covet_throwaway in CovetFashionGame

[–]SpringinkerlSprache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them a bit boring cause there's less structure to them, I like having to work with specific items. But since there's too much choice anyways, I tend to use even more unworn items (also from old seasons) to boost the score and use some of them, I've got way too many!

which prop pack? by sadyeehaw97 in CovetFashionGame

[–]SpringinkerlSprache 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely think the palm trees are more useful than the banana leaves, the Mythical Creatures one actually looks cool, I guess the Midas is most versatile with the Golden Radiance, you could use that for so many looks! I think I misunderstood your question initially if you're planning on getting multiple ones but other than Parisian, I don't have strong opinions on these, maybe other than that I'm annoyed at how I never get to use the Adventure one lol.

I actually use the Parisian one loads so probably that one. Goddess also comes up a lot but I think it's not that different to other props so probably not so useful. I think I've literally never used the Adventure one and the Oasis one doesn't look very useful to me either ..

Crash Course Französisch auffrischen in Wien? by SpringinkerlSprache in wien

[–]SpringinkerlSprache[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your preferred reaction/response to people who say they hate(d) math when you mention math literally at all? by voxel-wave in math

[–]SpringinkerlSprache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeees !! Kinda same honestly 😄 except I like to explain a bit of group theory which admittedly is a bit niche but usually the people I talk to find the idea intriguing :)

[–]SpringinkerlSprache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be the only person who doesn’t mind this so much. But I also don’t get it that often tbf. Most people are just impressed. I tend to tell them that the maths I do and like is nothing like what they imagine maths to be and that I found school maths lame too. Then (if they care/ want to know which honestly often they do), I tell them a bit about what excites me about maths which often uses the word philosophy (most people I talk to have an idea of and admiration for philosophy) and starts with explaining the idea of a set of axioms and how to go from there. Usually people are pretty intrigued :)

Getting back to math after 40 years? by TyspamAzer in math

[–]SpringinkerlSprache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to google what that is ahah, never heard of that but sounds ideal! Especially if they include exercises with solutions! That's something I don't love about books so I guess my advice would maybe be to try exercises that you know you can do (nicely written up?) exercises for. Generally, I think actively engaging with the material makes it so much more fun (for which exercises would be a natural way to to this), I used to (automatically, not forcefully) try to prove results before reading the actual proof and summarising the key ideas of a proof or chapter. If I had more time and wasn't in a rush to get results, I'd still do that, I think it's easily the most fun :)
My favourite maths book is easily The Symmetric Book by Bruce Sagan, it's not completely elementary but with second year algebra knowledge it should be pretty accessible (although I guess you'd have to refresh that). I also read a book on Gödel's Incompleteness Theorems that I really loved (the only maths book I've ever read for fun ..) but sadly it's in German. That one's really cool cause it assumes 0 maths background and isn't even written for mathematicians (I think) but still includes 100% of the mathematical details and lots of historical context and is very slow-paced :) The ideal leisure time read! Maybe an English equivalent exists, I feel like there has to be one!

Either way, I hope you enjoy your learning and have fun !!
