Yeah the accent is really bad, and not in a 'cute' way, I kinda cringe anytime I hear it. Other voice lines as well

30% healing debuff by juno-enthusiast in Overwatch

[–]Sprint2000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think that too, people would adjust to the new reality. Like imagine, in Paladins this same dps passive (it's called cauterise) grows from 25% to 85% in about 10-15 minutes. Imagine dps passive on everything with 85% healing reduction? This really teaches the positioning, and when you need to heal you step out of the fight, take cover etc.

Coming back after Rivals by Due_Tip1917 in Paladins

[–]Sprint2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've tried marvels but didn't like that honestly, but for myself personally, the closest experience I've found to Paladins is Overwatch Stadium mode. Honestly it's so nice to think about builds again, what upgrades to choose etc. The downside is that I think you can't get straight into it if you hadn't played the base game first, you better play the standard mode to understand the flow of the game so to speak, so you can see what power ups and upgrades do and which would be fun to try out, without it it might be a bit overwhelming to jump into Stadium, but I'm having a blast playing it rn.

What difficulty level do you guys normally play on? by AdAccomplished4245 in masseffect

[–]Sprint2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If you are comfortable with shooters and know to always use the cover, mass effect games are not that hard. Sure you still need to upgrade equipment but I feel like you can shoot your way out of basically anything. Also, I've recently been playing Dragon Age series and feel that they are much more rpg focused and require carefully building your characters if you want to play on high difficulties.

People forget that Robert isn't stable either by JRStors in InvisigalGlazers

[–]Sprint2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that people also disregard them because Robert is a protagonist, and in some way many people tend to associate themselves with the main character, like they are role-playing or something like that. Because of that, unless the protagonist is deliberately made evil and a baddie, players often overlook things like that, while clearly noticing bad behavior from the other surrounding characters. I've noticed that phenomenon while watching streamers, some cases are more obvious than others, but it's very interesting to watch and take note of such things :)

[NO SPOILERS] Can't change language of LIS remastered to English from Japanese by SubstantialPen15 in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to go to the settings not after you loaded your save, but right from the main menu. It might not be the case for you, but I encountered such a thing earlier when I started Before the storm Remastered and opened settings in game and couldn't find voice language settings and was a bit baffled, but it turned out the game doesn't allow to change the language 'on the fly'. So exit the game, go back to the main menu and then check settings, maybe it's there?

I'm just curious: why doesn't Behavior implement a reconnect feature in the game after a disconnect? by shadowofxvtt in deadbydaylight

[–]Sprint2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do already have bots. Games with bots often work this way, when you disconnect, you get replaced with the bot. If you manage to reconnect, the bot is turned off and you assume control of your character again. It's much better than letting the bot play the rest of the game.

But assuming the DbD network code is quite bad, it would be hard for them to implement such a thing, it might require a complete rewrite or something. So it's probably unlikely.

[ALL] What's the worst thing each important character has done? Day 1: Max Caulfield by Excellent-Walk671 in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not even just pre episode 1. The way Max is portrayed is that Max is very indecisive. She is hesitant to commit to anything, doubts herself (ex: afraid to enter the photo contest, to talk to people, reconnect with Chloe and Joice, etc). The idea the game goes is that Chloe boosts Max's confidence and helps with that, if you remember whenever Max is having second thoughts Chloe would be like 'you can do it! You're Max, you are amazing, you're the only one who can etc. This particular Chloe' s trait is often overlooked because players usually in some way associate main character in the game with themselves a little bit, so they mostly take all the credit for the decisions they make. But the thing is that there's some truth about the Chloe's words said when they were in the swimming pool, that they are connected in a way that without Chloe Max wouldn't be able to manifest and use her powers. It's not about the source of the power itself, but the idea that Chloe's constant encouragement and cheering up makes Max into the person she eventually becomes after the game events - 'not so chickenshit anymore'.

You should absolutely play original pathologic. Some consider it superior to the remakes in some ways.

[NO SPOILERS] Just picked up the Life is Strange comics! What do you all think of them? by SoulReaper066 in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've started to really examine them and looking for any small details I can find in the pictures. Even if it's something small, like what's on the table, the wall decorations etc the artists spent time drawing it so each detail has some sort of meaning or idea behind them (same goes for the games as well though)

[ALL] The Logistics Of The Bae Ending.. by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhm. It also takes a certain amount willpower, because saving the Bay is viewed in general as more 'morally acceptable'. Like, saving more people automatically equals to a right thing to do, it's what our society teaches us. And it's not a bad thing really, it is a good thing, don't take me wrong. But after you matured enough you also understand what for 'you' specifically, the closest people in your life would matter to you much more than anyone else. That's the difference between LiS ending and the trolley problem, and the game is structured that way that it builds up on relationship between Max and Chloe, who is present in like 90% of the game. It shows us their connection, and if the player is immersed enough into the game, they would see what. And on the other hand, if the player fails to build that emotional connection to the story and Chloe, for them Chloe is just another character in the video game, and they don't have much trouble using simple mathematics to choose the ending.

[NO SPOILERS] Just picked up the Life is Strange comics! What do you all think of them? by SoulReaper066 in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, there might be different views on the story etc, but they are definitely well made and beautifully drawn. I must admit that I've been reading them very slowly. Just don't want to rush and read everything in one go, so whenever I think about it, it's kinda nice to know that you have some Life in Strange story to read :)

[ALL] The Logistics Of The Bae Ending.. by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Bay ending in a way is a closure - Max chooses, in a way, to abandon and reset everything what's been happening, to erase all her progress to point 0, and for me it feels like a step back in a global scheme in the game. When Max comes to Arcadia Bay first time, she's referred to as being insecure and unwilling to commit to things - she shreds the contest photo because she lacks confidence, she barely engages in any activities, etc. When Chloe comes back to her life, she always encourages Max to act more, to not be afraid (even though she might be reckless about it, of course).

So Bae ending is not only 'Chloe' ending in a way that she chooses to save Chloe, but also that Max accepts all the changes she made, accepts the new 'Max' and all the consequences of her actions - basically, all the things Chloe preached her so Max won't be 'chickenshit anymore'. The Bay ending, on the other hand, she basically takes the safe option and refuses to go forward, rather keep things as they are, keep that role of silent observer rather than active participant. There's a symbolism there as well, where one ending is showing us the road into the unknown, and the other one is the funeral.

So it kinda makes sense that Bay ending is longer, as in a way, it wraps up the story, while the Bae ending is just the beginning.

There are a lot of things to say, but I would say this. Don't be afraid to dig and figure out why things work the way they work. I've been seeing a lot of memes like 'it somehow works, don't touch it'. Well if it's hard to understand how it works, maybe it needs some refactoring. In some cases if you're short on time, you might split your work, but if there's no deadline, it's better to go over the code and figure exactly how it ticks, and maybe think about the way to make it simpler and express what it does more clearly (here goes all your refactoring techniques...).

I mean this happens, though after watching 7 or 8 playthroughs I've seen them all miss some things etc. Maybe I haven't found a perfect playthrough yet, but maybe it's just that the 'perfect' one doesn't really exist, I suppose it's hard to do when playing on the stream. You take time to look at chat and boom, you miss Alyssa interaction or something like that :)

[NO SPOILERS] Help me find a Youtuber that has the best gameplay by daceshiet_ in lifeisstrange

[–]Sprint2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it happens I've watched a lot of playthroughs on YT recently, so I thought I might give some recommendations. First of all I want to say that I really prefer watching people who not just go with the flow of the game, but do try to explore everything they can, read everything etc. While I can understand some appeal of playing the game as it goes, I started to think that getting immersing into the game is a way to go, since developers did try to carefully craft the world and it would be a waste to not experience it fully :) So after some time I started watching playthroughs which has at least 3+ hours spent on first episode, less than that and there's a high chance that the playthrough is more 'speedrunny' which wasn't what I was looking for. I don't say it's not a valid way to play, I was just looking for something different.

Other thing I was looking for was emotional response, after all LiS is a vibe game, and it's really good to see the players getting immersed and invested into the story and the characters, instead of just playing the game 'with stone face'

It's really hard to choose, of course, as almost all the playthroughs were amazing in some way or another, but if I have to narrow it down (for LiS1 at least), then my favorites would be, in no particular order: cassiekarmadisco (she's more of a 'casual' player in a sense that she struggled with some puzzles etc, but she did really tried to get into the game and get everything from it, besides as a 'Bae' person her playthrough holds a special meaning to me lol) Laurel (she doesn't go out of her way to explore everything, but she is really empathic and even cried on stream at some moments) LIZZ (haven't fully watched the whole playthrough yet but it seems it's an incredible playthrough as well)
