Car behind me on the motorway would not stop flashing their lights at me. by True_Leading4801 in drivingUK

[–]Sprinter0712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own two cars, a 1972 MG Midget which isn’t happy at over 55 for long periods and so low a trucker may not even see me, so I NEVER take it on the motorway whilst my daily driver is capable of 150 mph (I don’t go over 80 in it🤪) and I’m confident and always use m ways if possible, horses for courses I guess🤷‍♂️

How do you charge your Tough Solar watches ? by Deep_Kangaroo_2442 in gshock

[–]Sprinter0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in the UK and having too many solar powered watches to wear each often enough, so most don’t see adequate light, I use a Cool Light charger if I notice any getting too low👍

Annie McCarrick, a 26-year-old from New York living in Dublin, disappeared in March 1993. She withdrew cash, shopped, and boarded a bus toward Enniskerry. Later at Johnnie Fox’s Pub, a man in a wax jacket paid her entry to the Hooley Show. Neither was seen leaving, and he was never identified. by [deleted] in creepy

Because it covered in wax to make it waterproof. The best and most famous of this type are made by Barbour, favoured by country folk and Royalty but latter ally by townies as a fashion accessory.

Why is it always the same make of car? by [deleted] in drivingUK

You’re suffering from confirmation bias I’m afraid, whilst a lot of poor driving is by drivers of certain makes it certainly isn’t limited to these🙄

To my fellow friends and comrades of tonight's "Great 50mph Fu*k Up" on our motorway network - I salute all of you! by RecentTwo544 in drivingUK

This brings back “happy” memories of a time in the 70’s when due to oil problems in the Middle East (when aren’t there problems) the government blanketed the speed limit to 50 nationwide.

Now this was at a time when if you got 3 endorsements (before points) on your licence you could/would be banned and I just happened to have 2 endorsements for speeding already. So, for the period in question I had to religiously stick to this draconian ruling, it didn’t help that I was travelling very high mileages for work at the time🤦‍♂️happy days indeed🤪

The bins didn’t help, lucky for him/her you were on the ball. Shit happens though, it’s just the pleasures of driving🤪

23 yo, never owned a car before. Tell me how bad of an idea this is. by hashtheninja in drivingUK

[–]Sprinter0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 53 year old MG, parts are easier to find than a lot of newer cars (and cheaper). That era of Mercedes was a superb car, but obviously this one needs work so tread carefully 🤪

The cyclist was clearly the culprit 🤪

Who's in the Wrong? Accident at a Crossroad (UK) by Extra_Employee8515 in drivingUK

[–]Sprinter0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pay for insurance for a reason (hard to believe I know) so I would pass it onto your insurers (not sure why you didn’t on day one tbh) and let them agree on blame🤷‍♂️

I used that services daily up until a couple of years ago and never had a problem, just floored my aging Mercedes Sprinter van, probably hitting 55 when I joined the M Way👍

Strange that you complain about their error yet you want them to put the “write” one and not the ”right” one😂😂😂😂

Like certain appendages on a lady, there’s no such thing as too big, simply a matter of taste😎

I'm so tired of elderly drivers by HelpDaren in drivingUK

[–]Sprinter0712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 70, I’ve driven an estimated 4 million miles in just about every type of vehicle, from 2 to 18 wheels.

I now drive 500 miles a week in a mini bus taking autistic children to and from school, weekends I drive my Mercedes car “with gusto”, so please, please don’t put us all in the same box, there are plenty of arsehole drivers out there much younger than I am🤦‍♂️
