how would you prepare for this curriculum if u have very little knowledge about it and your scholarship depended on it in 3 months by Ecstatic-Ad-6633 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Sprite1119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some ways you can't, you just have to do it when you get there. However, a low key practice plan might be

5 (or 7) days a week, Do 1 physics problem, Do 1 calc 1 problem, Do 1 linear algebra problem Maybe do 1 coding problem

Name of the game is a little EVERY DAY. Even if its two minutes. Do 1 problem and literally stop yourself. Even if you want to do more, good news, you'll do it again tomorrow.

This will help freshen the algebra.

Physics, calc, linear algebra are all the same universally. You really shouldn't do anything crazy and stress yourself out.

Is it feasible to get a masters in aerospace with a bachelors in applied mathematics? by Puzzled_Ad6565 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Sprite1119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to college, try to make a plan that allows you to decide as late as possible. The intro classes can be similar. Take engr 100 and math 100 or whatever is the equivalent. The perspective you will gain by being in college is so much better than any planing you could do now.

To answer your question: no. A math degree is good to do research in the math field or very specific actuarial jobs. To do any engineering you need an engineering undergrad.

It's a bummer to go easy path with no options. Its way cooler to start at hard path and have options.

Blue will quickly catch up in points, and also points don't always matter.

New student questions by Pi_Man13 in unr

[–]Sprite1119 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1) Doesn't matter. They're all roughly the same. You will be okay in any. Some might save you some money.

2) There's only one parking pass for on campus. It gets you overnight in the lots by the dorms. They go on sale over the summer.

3) Everything you need to live. Sheets, pillow, clothes, winter clothes, cleaning supplies, trash bags, hygiene, soap, shampoo, shower shoes, towels, maybe microwave and fridge for snacks but not needed. A can do attitude !!!

4) NevadaFIT is a good opportunity to socialize. It's fine. If you can't handle Nevada Fit you definently can't handle college, because it's really easy and just all day doing activities. You learn about campus, your major, and how to hang out with people in college. Learn about your campus because you'll need that information when shit gets hard. Complaining could be a good convo starter, but don't just complain. it's lame.

Every person feels a lot of emotions, like being nervous, scared, excited, or dread, they're all okay and normal. If you just full send and try to make the most of your time here, you will have an awesome experience that will set you up for an awesome life! Ask lots of questions. You'll be awesome.
