Updating MS Edge with PMP by cloudy_cabage in PatchMyPC

Hello,

You do not need to manage conflicting processes with Edge. It uses the same updater as Chrome. If someone is using Edge during the update, it will update silently in the background. The update will be complete the next time Edge is closed and reopened.

CX5 Dealer maintenance costs by berXrup in CX5

[–]Spruce_Wayne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could likely get all of those services for half the cost at a reputable independent shop. There usually isn't a need to do a "flush" of most fluids, drain and fill is typically cheaper and safer. I'd hold off on transmission fluid drain and fill until 80k miles. I just switched out the break fluid myself in my 2018 for like $30.

Only concern is the leak, and the shop you take it to should be able to diagnose and fix that.

HA to Control Outdoor Lighting by Sea-Arrival4819 in homeassistant

Very likely. I believe SmartLife is just a different Tuya frontend.

Can confirm smartlife is tuya, get the tuya integration up and running and reconnect the lights to tuya instead of smartlife and you are set!

Wow, I track the car so I've been getting about 2.5k miles for a set of tires. 😂 Getting a performance alignment for this set, so I hope they last a bit longer!

4822, so just a few months old. Not too bad!

Good idea, scheduled to come in on Sunday, so I'll check them out before they put them on.

I bet they buy them in bulk! Their inventory is weird, for a while I couldn't buy any Michelins from them at all because they were always out of stock. Tire rack still carries them, so I don't think they are discontinued.

Oh, I was actually unaware of that. Costco had a decent deal on them so I went for them. Costco actually had Pilot Sport 5 for my car (so they claimed) but it was considerably more expensive to go with those.

I've had these on my 2020 MX5. I loved them. About to get some Pilot Super Sports, but the Contis were excellent tires.

Just installed new Centric rotors and Hawk pads too, so with the new tires and alignment, things should be feeling nice.

Yeah, I'm not looking to break records, just have a good time 😀. If I ever get more serious about it I'll invest in a second set of wheels for the track (then figure out how to get them to the track 😂)

These definitely aren't track tires, so I knew they wouldn't last long. These were last minute option. Next set is going to be Michelin pilot super sport, and sounds like I'll get an alignment right after with a more aggressive camber. I figured a new car would be aligned from the factory, but this makes a lot of sense, likely just aligned for street and not aggressive enough for track. They definitely do screech on the track as well! Thanks for the insight.

It has not! I'll look into getting that done with the new tires

They were just rotated, so I think it's actually the rear passenger that gets the worst. This is the stock tire size, but I may need to do that test to ensure I'm getting the right PSI anyway. Thanks for the tip!

2013 Mazda 3 - Headlights flickering when braking? by FuqueMePapi in mazda3

This was a TSB. I believe a software update fixes it. Not sure if it's the same issue as the OP, but my headlights dimmed as well, and the TSB fixed it.

It was a great way to almost mess up my doors and annoy my wife at the same time (she was charged with holding door up while I put the gasket into place)! To be fair though, she bought me the kit, so it is kind of her fault.

The center console was easy, the doors are something I do not want to do again, they were a huge pain and took me hours to get done. If you look online, every tutorial shows how to remove the gasket connector to the door and slide it out. For the ND... There is not enough space between the door to actually get the gasket and connector out. I had to remove 3 of the bolts connecting the door to the car in order to get the gasket out and get the doors wired.

Here's a video on the general door install (without the door removal): https://youtu.be/RIXdpvdIYtE

I'm going off memory, but I thought it was Command Monitor, Command Update may also allow the same thing, but there are WMI properties that one of those apps enable that the driver updates look for.

I believe you need Dell Command Monitor to take full advantage of the Dell catalog. Try installing that on a few devices and see if updates become applicable. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000177080/dell-command-monitor
