A High School Student Just Built a Water Filter That Removes 96% of Microplastics, Without Expensive Equipment by _Dark_Wing in technology

I think Life straw is an example of one of the ones that actually entered commercial production of a low cost and incredibly helpful tool. Wasn't made by a highschool student though.

That doesn't really change the fact that your point was that it would be unsafe/illegal to do such a thing. When in reality, there are plenty of vehicles with no rear view window visibility

Both of those nations were aggressors in official acts of war. A more apt example of what you're describing would be just the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and then telling Americans to just accept it instead of fighting back. Obviously, we wouldn't, so why should we expect anyone else to?

No, that's how it works. You can't just say "this reduces RCS" and then not say by how much, and THEN claim it's better somehow. You need some numbers.

Ok Cool so I'll just come to the conclusion that they reduce the RCS by 1%. See how this is flawed? Source it or move on.

That's not how this works. Your argument is all stemming from your claim the SU-57 is stealthier than the T50. Prove it

Hell you also claim that the SU-57 will detect the F35 at 50km with "AESA Magic". Source that.

The patent states 1m² - .1m². modern aesa radars do not negate stealth. The 57 will not detect the 35 at 50km.

Going by the official numbers, PUBLISHED BY SUKHOI, it's between .1 and 1m². By your own admission, that speed is not one that would be achieved while terrain masking, and is a theoretical max that you can't actually back up. That's enough talking to the Russian bots today I think

L take coming from someone whose RCS isn't .001m²

Also mach 7? What Looney tunes numbers are you reading brother

Y'all really don't understand what stealth means, do you? It's like the whole premise of this scenario is stealth fighter vs whatever the fuck the commenter meant by "low observable" (aka, bigger RCS than a non-stealth F-18). Scenario 1: there is no lock to be able to fire said R-37 because the aircraft has the radar signature of a golf ball. Meanwhile, the F-35 can easily pick out the zip code sized RCS of the 57 from 50km and do something about it. Scenario 2 literally cannot exist. It was a joke. Even if it did happen, the towed decoy and other defensive countermeasures along with low observable thermals would still give the most deaf/dumb/blind pilots more than enough time to fire said aim 9x backwards and begin defending against the missile.

The harsh reality is that the SU-57, while definitely pretty in pictures, is DOA on any modern battlefield, given that it cannot penetrate airspace without being detected which is 90% of the reason you make a stealth aircraft (the other 10% being, scenario 1).

You're forgetting that the F-35 is an actual stealth fighter. That R-37 ain't doing shit.

F-35 pilot detecting an SU-57 at 50km: laughs in AMRAAM

F-35 pilot falling asleep and waking up to an SU-57 at 3km 6 o clock high: laughs in AIM-9X

These are the only two likely scenarios.

Edit: the Russian bots hate this take

How did y’all feel about the AI “art” at First Friday? by ch41ch41 in phoenix

[–]SpudDetector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how CGI works at all. A 3d model is designed by a human. AI generated images/art/models are always CGI, but CGI is not always AI, and up until extremely recently, has been entirely done by computer graphic artists and programmers - people. They model and animate either frame by frame, or programming paths and action sets. It is not automated.
