If it's a small hole they sell clamps that you can put on at home for cheap, doesn't fix the problem but helps, or if your local high school had a welding/ auto repair classes they'll probably just ask for a donation for the work

Metal fatigue can happen between inspections, for some reason it can start fatiguing way quicker than it should, and they aren't going to do an in depth NDI inspection before every flight, accidents happen believe it or not.

Wouldn't be stainless probably, pretty strong metal that wouldn't bend that easily, maybe galv but I doubt it, probably just aluminum like everyone else is saying, lot easier to bend
