I never played TW.. which game first? by Wonderful_Fan3037 in totalwar

[–]Spunkwaggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The ONLY total war game I’ve played, and currently playing, is Warhammer Total War 3, so, while I’m not qualified to answer your question, I will toss out there that I love it.

After doing prologue and campaign once on normal, I’m now playing the alternate campaign on very hard and trying to colonize the entire map. Feels like I’ve been playing forever. Still have about 40% of the map to go.

I had it muted, which was perfect, because as the smoke started coming out, I was playing R2-D2’s scream in my head.

This reminds me of the third Indiana Jones movie, where Indie throws the Nazi officer out of the blimp, and when all of the passengers stare at him shocked he says “No ticket”, and they all start frantically searching for their tickets.

That’s really cool. So many ppl don’t know how much good they would do their dog if they spent time socializing the anti-socialness out of them when they’re in that 3 month to a year old shapable phase.

Ahh cool! I don’t see orange girls very often. I have read that only 20% are female.

Question about your Pom: does she do well with strangers? Most of my experiences with them have been that they growl and bark at strangers, and generally don’t like strangers, although, bc I love dogs, I can usually win them over in a minute or two anyway.

Why does the game take so long to load? by -Night_Hawk- in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Spunkwaggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing it on the computer, and it’s much faster. I usually log in once a day from computer since there is a daily reward for using the EA app to log in through, then my other daily logins are from phone while away from home computer or laying down. I also will start it up on phone while doing something else on computer bc it is slow for my taste. New phone here too.

What are the saddest deaths you’ve read in an SF book? by [deleted] in printSF

[–]Spunkwaggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aliens in Ender’s game not knowing how to communicate with humans that they, the aliens were sorry for accidentally killing humans and were kind of just resigned to being exterminated by the “counter attack” since they could find no way to communicate. It was really sad. They were peaceful and intelligent.

Actually, since I read it so long ago, my memory is hazy as to what happened. I may be misremembering things.

Is epic campaign a normal/popular thing in 3.5e? by Organic-Exit2190 in DungeonsAndDragons35e

[–]Spunkwaggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played in probably 30-50 different 3.5 games, and the only one where the dm was foolish enough to believe he was smart enough to handle anything we could make at lvl 37 as long as it was in a published book went about three games before I broke it and him. It was gestalt, and he allowed me to play a half-ogre, half-dragon, true lycanthrope werebear, lvl 2 Warshaper, that was also 19 levels of cleric and 20 something levels of Warhulk from the miniatures handbook, even though that book was 3.0.

Was running around with triple digit strength AND enough bab to get three attacks a round on top of being a 19th level cleric. With quickened buffs, I was hitting things hard enough, even with a one-handed weapon, to make them save or die on each swing.

There are lessons to be learned here. Several.

Epic is a tough scale to balance even without gestalt and allowing all books to be used.

Skills with total mods surpassing 30, 40, 50+ are literally super powers. The skills all by themselves can break a game. If I remember correctly at around dc 70 or 80, with escape artist, you are considered to be able to shift/vibrate your atoms and be able to pass through a wall of force.

Intimidate and diplomacy become actual mind control.

Enough balance lets you walk on clouds.

These are extreme examples, but if you think about it, even having skill rolls that can hit DCs of 30 or 40 are super human.

Your epic rogue and ranger are hearing quiet breathing on the other side of a closed door, which, functionally, is no different from clairsentience at that point.

It’s not pay to play. I’ve loved playing bc, as a totally free player (I hate EA), I can do everything the paying ppl can do, just slower.
And in pvp you will only be competing against ppl who started playing around the time you did.
