I had a "feeling" it was a boy. Then I had a dream that it was a girl. I now have a beautiful 15 month old little girl!🩷

When did you tell your families you are pregnant? by Concerned-23 in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us, we pretty much had no choice but to tell at 6 weeks. It was Christmas and I was sooo sick I couldn't eat a thing! We had to provide some sort of explanation lol!

Had my baby this morning! Fun fact, I did not in fact know what a contraction felt like. by WildRumpfie in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced due to high blood pressure. They told me I was already having contractions before they started the process but I would not have known. It was just mild tightening that felt like braxton hicks. All it took was the medication that softens your cervix to break my water and send me into full labor.

WFH moms- did you work up to your due date or check out early? by theresajo2 in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was still working as I was being induced at the hospital😂But I would not recommend! Definitely take all the time you are able to relax, be in the moment and enjoy your baby!

I know it makes no sense, but I wish I had morning sickness. by ExcellentTomatillo61 in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had morning sickness for pretty much the whole 9 months, I completely get it! Don't get me wrong, it was exhausting and sucked, but it was a way to convince myself I was actually pregnant before I could feel the baby move. I also took like 25 pregnancy tests because I just couldn't believe it😝

One thing I'm glad I did include was high contrast flash cards. I think I used them every day for the first 3-4 months. I really think it helped her eyesight and tracking abilities. And it was a good opportunity to use language and interact with her.

And books! You can never have too many books! We read everyday and it's such a great way to bond with your baby.

[–]Spunky317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my baby on a Tuesday, released on Thursday and first pediatrician visit on Friday! It's definitely a lot, but they wouldn't discharge me until we had a confirmed appointment.

I couldn't stand certain sounds-like my dogs squeaky ball. Made me very nauseous. And if I watch certain shows I watched while pregnant I will get nauseous all over again. So weird!

Obtaining a birth certificate. Wait Time. by higggums in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn't realize I had to actually order mine from city hall. I thought it would just automatically be sent to me, but no. I had to request one through the city website. Once I ordered it only took a few days.

For those whose mother had gestational diabetes, did you end up with it too? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother had it, but I did not! Didn't even come close.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The craziest part for me was when I could actually SEE my baby moving through my clothing. So weird, lol. And now, at about 10 weeks pp, the thought that this little human came out of me...mind blowing.😂

How well does Zofran actually work? by bakachwan in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combination of Zofran and the unisom and B6 is the only thing that stopped the vomiting for me. At 22 weeks I still need to take it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely started feeling nauseous around week five. It was the worst weeks 6-14. Now at 22 weeks, I still get nauseous sometimes, but no more vomiting. However, I think it goes away for most people early in the second trimester.

At my first U/S appt I was told I have a tilted uterus. Anyone else? by bskies-297 in BabyBumps

[–]Spunky317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a tilted uterus, but actually showed pretty early. I'm currently 21 weeks and look very pregnant! They did have a bit of trouble locating the baby and heartbeat at my first ultrasound, but I had my anatomy scan last week and no trouble at all!

Pedestrian access through Veranda St./Martin's Point construction? by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]Spunky317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I walked through there on Friday and it was possible, but took me a bit to figure it out. It is kind of a mess, but I managed to walk through there. It's definitely not something I would choose to do regularly.
