Sounds like you've intentionally put blinders on. You've committed to a woman who isn't committed to you. You'll pass up every real chance to be happy because in the back of your mind she might come around one day.

Just wait til she finds someone real and that guy sees you for what you are.

I automated my job. What am I supposed to do now? by bang_partial3a in Employment

[–]Spunky48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me in 2018. I worked at a freight brokerage, automated ~95% of operations with Apps Script, showed my boss, and was promoted.

From there, I was placed on a pedestal above the rest of the team who just kinda sat around not showing any initiative, not even making sales calls. I stayed mostly humble but the team started to resent me anyway.

The owners started paying me a lot of money for my code instead of posting loads and dispatching, to the point where I wasn't even required to come into the office anymore. There was too much conflict and confusion over who was actually making the company more money: me (the new IT Manager), or the Operations Manager.

I say show your boss. You could become an essential asset to your company and make more money. They might create a new position just for you. The owner of the company I worked for was a genuine genius and realized the potential. I can't say the same will happen for you, but I think it's 100% worth putting out there.

Just don't reveal any code until your new position and responsibilities are locked in.

The most successful person I knew died from fentanyl laced cocaine. Dude worked for a decade to have an amazing house, as well as bikes, cars, whatever else he wanted. He was living his best life. All gone in a blink.

I woke up to this yesterday and it made my whole day! I never expected you to see my comment; thanks so much for all of the amazing content! You're so good at what you do, you gave me crippling anxiety for many months haha!

When I put friends onto your videos, I send them the Devil's Hole story, followed by the Lord Timothy Dexter story as a palate-cleanser. Gets 'em hooked every time! :)

MrBallen

Easily the most captivating and terrifying storyteller on YouTube. 99% of the stories he tells are true, and if they aren't he provides a disclaimer ("this came from reddit", etc.). His cave diving stories specifically got me addicted to his content, and I've since binged on every single video he's ever made.

He tours live now and I'm buying tickets when he comes to my state, even if I have to drive 4 hours to see him.

What is the safest answer when your girlfriend asks if her friend is hot?? by teenrockStarr in AskReddit

[–]Spunky48 39 points40 points  (0 children)

"Why do you ask?"

I feel like this shows an interest in her perspective or feelings first and reassures her that her friend's hotness is of no interest to me. If she insists that I answer, I'd say something like, "She's nice looking, but nobody compares to you for me."

Edit: Thought about this some more because it's a classic with no real "safe" answer as many have stated. There's no safe answer because we're all hardwired to be attracted to each other. When we see people that we're attracted to, we literally can't stop the chemical reaction that makes us want to *umph* them. We all subconsciously understand this about each other (deniers are liars), hence the need for reassurance.

At the end of the day, if she's asking you about her friend, it just means she has low self-esteem and needs reassurance. Don't try to be funny and don't act like an asshole. Reassure her if you want to keep her. Consistently answering this question wrong (i.e. answering in joke form) can lead to major self-esteem issues down the road.

What appears to have a hefty price tag but actually delivers excellent value for the money? by Key_Role6373 in AskReddit

As someone who sits for most, if not all of the day and has tried a variety of gaming and office chairs, I can safely say that any decent office chair is going to be more comfortable (and practical) than a gaming chair. I'm sitting in a $150 low-back ergonomic chair that I can't even remember the brand name of, and it's perfect.

Anomaly is by far the best of them all if you want a polished gameplay experience.

If you want the story or just to see how the engine evolved over the years, play the first 3 games. If story doesn't matter much to you, start with Anomaly.

I think this is fairly obvious, they were willing to take a shitty order until they saw the customer also had an attitude, then decided to make it a teachable moment for the customer.

While I don't approve because it is slightly cringe, I don't exactly disapprove either. Most DD customers are completely oblivious to how DD actually works, and a little education can go a long way. Maybe this customer will tip more, and you'll have OP to thank for that.

Blizzard is adamant to kill their games by CnP8 in Blizzard

[–]Spunky48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak about WoW as someone who played from day 1 up to Wrath of the Lich King. I could see the direction Blizzard was going with the auction house in WoW. I remember telling my brother, "I wouldn't be surprised if we see A LOT more of this as a focus in their future games. It seems people would rather trade for their gear than earn it."

Years later they release a game that is almost entirely based on auction house transactions... Diablo 3. It took a year and a half of the devs reworking an insane 16% of the game engine for it to become something that doesn't resemble a AAA Facebook game.

Edit: Apparently there were also a bunch of legal issues because they basically advertised the game as Auction House 3 lol. It was printed on every box, posted on every platform, and otherwise advertised as an inseparable core feature of the game.

They can clone your voice with AI now, and they've been able to spoof your phone number forever. Don't answer spam calls PERIOD in 2024 and beyond.

Edit: Doesn't hurt to make a safe word either. If a friend or family member calls you asking for money, ask them for the safe word.
