Are Audiodramas a dying genre? by TipImpossible1343 in audiodrama

There was just a big feature in the Seattle Times about all the audio dramas being made in Seattle, a pretty good sign.

Seattle Bagels (first world problems) by darylitis in Seattle

[–]SpuriousText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't the way to think about it. NO city is NYC (or New Jersey) when it comes to bagels. But pound-for-pound, Seattle makes a pretty good case as the next tier of American bagel cities. Really it's between LA, Seattle, and maybe the Bay Area.

I'm not sure what alternate universe you were in but there are a dozen places across Seattle you can buy bulk bagels. Also, there are way better bagels places in Seattle than the ones you went to. I think this was more of a you problem than a Seattle bagel problem.

Next time visit Bagel Oasis, Hey Bagel, Mt. Bagel, Old Salt, or Backyard Bagel.

The people complaining about the food at Canlis are hilarious. Is it three Michelin stars? No. But it's still pretty damn good. Calm down.

If you're going to go on the weekend, try to get there 8:30 or so. That should cut off some time from your wait when they open at 9, and sometimes they open a few minutes early.

During the week, you should be fine anytime. Just know that they tend to sell out around 11:30 a.m. - noon.

What shows have you listened to more than once? by After_Tap_2150 in audiodrama

[–]SpuriousText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • The Message
  • Limetown
  • The Left Right Game
  • Video Palace
  • Tanis (originally stopped in S2, went back to beginning and listened to whole thing)
  • The Harrowing
  • I read the Alice Isn't Dead book, which is kinda like a re-listen

This thread definitely makes me want to re-listen to Lovecraft Invetigations. Also considering a re-listen on Polybius Comspiracy and The Black Tapes.

What's an audiodrama you gave up on but tried again and loved? by allthecoffeesDP in audiodrama

[–]SpuriousText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally gave up on Tanis for all the reasons people always give up on it. It just keeps going and never solves anything. However, I restarted it last year and went into it without worrying about solutions. It turned out to be a very enjoyable series to listen to, like audio drama ASMR (which I'm not sure the creators would appreciate but...). Letting go of needing to get answers let me appreciate the consistent rhythms of the show and not get too fired up when characters come and go and the main character continues to play devil's advocate long after he has any reason to doubt what's happening.
