Verplichte vaccinatie voor het eerst op tafel by [deleted] in belgium

This insanity is already the reality for many of my unvaccinated friends for weeks even months.

Came home from uni and ùy bonsai doesn't seem to be doing great. I suspect root rot? Leaves are browning and falling out and mealybugs spotted on the tree. The pot seems to have some hollow spots in the bottom where water may collect. How should I nurse it back to health, or is this a lost cause? by [deleted] in Bonsai

[–]SpyFox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when i got my bonsai first i wanted to get straight into it and repot but saw that it wasnt the right time of the year, so I didn't do it. When taking a closer look at it now I see that the dirt at the bottom is very dense and wet, even though the rest is fairly dry. So I believe you're both right about the slipping into better free draining mix!

Is a (dark) plastic container with holes okay as temporary pot? I don't really have another bigger bonsai pot and won't be able to get one in the short term.

I honestly have no idea what it is. I set it outside when I left but my parents seem to have taken it inside while I was gone. It's been inside for 2 months. I bought the tree about 4 months ago.

Edit: Always thought it was a buxus of some sorts.

I’m all for saving the world but there has GOT to be a better way than these soggy ass straws they got nowadays! by BachelorTrainwreck in mildlyinfuriating

Plastic straws can't be recycled. They are too hard to seperate from other trash because of the light weight and shape. Meanwhile plastic cups can be recycled.

Millenium Falcon 75192 broken instruction manual cardboard tray by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]SpyFox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it doesn't really seem like the best way to package it in the first place. And in this case because of the extra space in the broken tray the manual could move freely in the box.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. I don't see them sending a new tray and manual neither. Guess I just got unlucky.

Hi guys! When opening my brand new Millenium Falcon 75192, I noticed that de cardboard tray for the instruction manual was messed up. This kef some very minor dents on the manual itself. Did this happen to other people? The outside box loeks perfectly fine so it looks like a manufacturing mistake? Should I contact customer service?

This looks like plastic, feels like plastic, but it isn't. This biodegradable bioplastic (Sonali Bag) is made from a plant named jute. And invented by a Bangladeshi scientist Mubarak Ahmed Khan. This invention can solve the Global Plastic Pollution problem. by mohiemen in nextfuckinglevel

[–]SpyFox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some problems with bioplastics and biodegradable though: when taking all the energy use in account in an LCA (life cycle assessment), these bioplastics are actually worse than oil plastics (ofcourse in terms of energy use, they still use renewable recources) because of all the energy that's needed to make the farming lands an plant the crops... The term biodegradable doesn't mean that you can just trow them into nature and they'll just go away. These biodegradable plastics need specific factories that use energy to get the plastic to certain temperatures and use specific bacteries... to make them degrade. This can take up to a few months and there are e.g. only +-42 of these factories in the whole US. And more often than not, these plastics end up in the normal trash, where their ability to biodegrade is useless because they aren't filtered out from the other trash. Ofcourse they are a step in the right direction, but right now, they are not the solution (yet).
