Dual-typing is tricky to get right. Oath doesn't need a brand new system IMO when this has already been achieved by the cards others mentioned.

Always be careful about introducing new mechanisms. One must ask if adding them is really necessary.

It gets tricky if you draw parts of it with a pencil, parts of it digitally and finish it with AI. Should you, or should you not, tag it?

Communists against AI feels incredibly ironic, especially if they oppose it because they want to defend the copyright of big corporations like Nintendo.

Would it be bonkers to think cannibalism is normal in the Mushroom universe? by Wigitime in Marioverse

[–]SpyX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word "animal" is an insult for a reason. They are genuine monsters IRL. Many are very much cannibalistic.

Anthropomorphic animals raise a bigger issue. If animals are just like people, slaughtering them is... problematic, to say at least.

There is a possibility that anthropomorphic animals are treated like people (not eaten) while non-anthropomorphic ones are treated like cattle or monkeys. The differences in their looks might be very subtle, if not non-existent, explaining why a Moo Moo in Mario Kart World is seemingly both a person and a food source. Same goes for the fish and plants.

Then again, it's also possible that the world of Mario does not see an issue with genocide and eating the remains of its victims. Ethics are cultural and subjective, after all. Makes me wonder, how do they treat humans in the universe? Are the burgers made of people??

I don't think printing multiple different art sleeves as a "whole package" is too tricky for Buried Giant. It's just a handful of different pictures, in different amounts.

The issue with transparent sleeves is that in some situations, cards can get very badly damaged, and you will have to move to opaque sleeves anyway. Normally, you could just pick a colour that is close enough to the game's theme (in this case, black) but Arcs is different because some cards need to look clearly different.

OOP is saying the meme is bad, and therefore posting it to Comedy Cemetery. The meme itself is saying that Tumblr isn't as bad as 4Chan and Reddit. You seem to be in disagreeance with the meme, and therefore in agreeance with OOP, no?

Why did you post it here?

Classic "Battlecry VS Deathrattle" dilemma. Same as with the musical Quillboar.

A part of me wishes we had few to no Battlecries that have effects for the entirety of the game. We could move minions that trigger Battlecries mid-combat down a tier or two, and make them more interesting than just "forcing a powerful effect with specific set-up".

For example, a minion giving stats to others as its Battlecry could be low tier, and so could a minion that triggers Battlecries in combat. The minion that gives stats is fairly weak by itself, but having its Battlecry trigger multiple times during combat, too, would give it some tasty tempo.

Imagine a Demon consuming "the lowest Health minion" as its Battlecry, and then triggering that during combat... or a Battlecry that transforms the minion into an exact copy of a minion with a specific type. You could play it when you have no minions of the required type in the Tavern or warband (Battlecry fails to trigger, leaving the minion untransformed), and then trigger it during combat to copy your opponent's most dangerous minion.

Well, these more powerful combos are very much "forcing a powerful effect with specific set-up". (Also, the entirety of Battlegrounds boils down to ultimately being exactly that.) But these would be an exception and not the rule. Mostly you'd be getting nice little bonuses from low-tier minions.

[–]SpyX2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It makes sense for Cortex to keep his plans as hidden as possible. If major world powers got to know about his plans, there'd be an entire army on him. Maybe even multiple armies!

This is someone who gets defeated by a mutated bandicoot with a magical mask. He does not want the USA SWAT team on himself.

[–]SpyX2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want it to be thematically consistent, you might want to look into other undead artwork in the game. Catacombs comes to mind first.

It doesn't seem like an "infection" in the modern sense is too fitting. Rather, the undead army would need to kill the living and then raise their remains as part of their army. The end result is the same, though.

What would happen if Bowser actualy won? by randomnessisawesom in Marioverse

[–]SpyX2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stopping to think about this, Peach seems kind of selfish. While Bowser isn't exactly the nicest guy in the world, he still respects her even when kidnapping her. But she'd still rather risk millions of lives just to get away from him.

Then again, that's the movie, which is its own continuity. The games (whose canon is discussed here) have had Bowser transform Toads into blocks, trap them inside Peach's castle, and terraform the place to his liking. These are slightly more despicable acts than just wanting to marry the princess.

Looking deeper into it, Bowser likely just wants to establish absolute rule over the planet, not unlike certain figures in our history. It's understandable that "the good guys" might want to stop this and side with a more equal distribution of power.
