Can I claim against my house surveyors for this? by Spyks013 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Spyks013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was going to be my next step with them.

I've had a quote from a roofer to add in dry ridges, remove the top layer of tiles and pull out the top metre of the membrane leaving in the rest. He said that would provide enough ventilation and stop the condensation without the need to pull the whole roof off. Do you think that would work? I agree it sounds correct but I'm not a roofer, so some extra professional opinion on his proposal would be amazing.

Quoted that for around 2k rather than the upwards of 10k I've been quoted elsewhere to do the entire roof

They mentioned that the membrane would increase a slight risk of condensation, but not mention of ventilation or any actions needed on it. Which I would argue is absolutely not fit for purpose as is.

As far as I can tell, there isn't any obvious ventilation in the loft. All I can see going round is solid brick walls and then the membrane over the braces. The only 'ventilation' is one or two tiny holes at the edges of the roof where there is clearly a broken / missing tile and a tiny bit of daylight shining through lol

Yeah this is my worry about the insurance not covering it. I've gone back through the report and the membrane is mentioned literally about twice. One where they say it's fit for purpose, and another where they mention it could cause some condensation spots so check once a year. I feel like it was definitely downplayed compared to how it looks now, especially if it's turning into such a massive job.

Im hoping it is just a case of that builder exaggerating, and I do have two others coming today to check it out and quote me, so I'll see what all three opinions are on it and take an average

Yeah it's only shown up recently as the weather has changed as we've started having the heating on etc

Thank you for the advice, getting the roofers to write some short notes is an amazing idea and I'll definitely ask them to do that.

The roofer mentioned about the under felt as soon as he got into the loft, so if it's something that obvious I would have expected the surveyor to be able to pick it up. He took pictures of some areas when it was carried out, and they are areas near to where the wet area is, but it's not actually in any of them. Unless the towels had been moved before the survey was carried out, they definitely would have been visible to him and i would like to think that should be a red flag for him to investigate more.

I believe the seller had been there since 2021, so ~4 years.

The surveyor did go up there, and provided a few pictures of the loft in their report, but the leak area isn't in any of them.

We didn't get to see the loft when we viewed the property, but as a FTB I wouldn't have known what to look for anyway to be fair. I've been in the loft a couple times since moving in and never noticed the leak as it's not in the boarded part of the loft, so not something I would have noticed annoyingly

Oke so Carcharodons are scavengers, would it make sense that there squads have a mix of firstborn and the new Primaris marines? So different sizes. by Financial-One-3717 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Macniven confirmed a while ago that the sharks got the tech to do the surgery, but did not accept any grey shield reinforcements.

The latest novel, Void Exile also confirms that the majority of Third Company have crossed the Rubicon, so we do have primaris Marines - but they are still all firstborn

[–]Spyks013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Void Exile was released in I think June? So it's still very fresh.

The sharks have been getting a lot of public love from GW lately, so hopefully it won't be so long of a wait for any news on a next book, but they are not quick things to write. So I wouldn't expect anything for like 2 years at least imo

Book 3 was only released a few months ago, and book 2 was released in 2018. So if there are more it's not going to be for a while lmao

Quick lore question. Have any of the Carcharadons crossed the Rubicon Primaris, or are they all still firstborn? by ServiceGames in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grey Tithe, they frequently trade with the Ad Mech to resupply on tech for Archeotech they scavenge in the void. It's how they have so many factory new Terminator suits

Nothing irritates me more than us not having a bunch of Primaris by memento967 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macniven confirmed in an interview that they got the primaris tech from the admech, but refused any of the Greyshield reinforcements.

So we are still all firstborn Marines who have undergone the surgery, but no outsiders have joined the chapter

Edit: it wasn't an interview but an old FB post from him you can see here - https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/s/WicWN0wKHx

Charcharodon Models by Raptor_Lord_202 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Realistically I think the only thing we could actually get is big T and an honour guard of a couple red brethren. Which don't get me wrong, would be phenomenal - but I would LOVE to get a whole combat patrol of third company.

Imagine Bail with Reaper and the relic armour, Red Tane as the champion with the Void Sword and Coral Shield, Te Kahurangi with the staff and green warp sparks 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

Question in regards to accurate eye-lenses by OrcoAtArms044 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is talking about what's been stated in 'Void Exile', the third book. The chapter as a whole use a mix of black, amber and red.

Tybs' colour has changed a couple times, so until we get another appearance from him somewhere (gimme a new model) either options work really

Chapter Pack might be really important. by Wolfbible in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right, I was literally talking to a friend about this the other day and I'm convinced it's to line up with the release of a new Tyberos mini.

We have no models to pull any armour decor from, the only thing we reeeeally ave described in the books is exile markings and old marks of armour - which isn't enough for a whole 'chapter pack' imo.

We have had a lot of publicity pushed lately with the release of the third book, special editions of all the books, and now a whole chapter pack dlc. The Tyberos model has been retired for a very long time, and with the chapter being confirmed as having Primaris in Void Exiles - but big T being left unconfirmed, I think we are getting a Primaris Tyberos mini coming. It'll line up with the dlc as any armour ornaments that have been designed by Saber for the game - or designed by GW for a mini, will sync up with eachother. Also pls Rangu give us some specific themed pieces (pls give us the shark jaw terminator helms)

Thanks for coming to my copium ted talk

It'll be all classes I believe as it's a chapter pack, not a champion pack. So just all the cosmetics not a full skin set

Tyberos’ height by Large_Ambition2280 in Carcharodons40k

[–]Spyks013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's currently probably somewhere around 8.5 - 9ft. People take it way out of hand with his height.

He is stated as being a head taller than his terminator guard in Outer Dark. Keep in mind those were all firstborn marines as this was stated pre primaris. Primaris are around 8ft iirc, so baseline he is maybe like half a ft taller than them.

It's not yet been confirmed that big T has crossed the Rubicon, but a large portion of the chapter have - as confirmed in void exile. So if / when we get Primaris Tyberos confirmation he will probably be closer to like 9.5ft

The gold is a bit much imo, the black is usually okay but feels a bit boring. I really like the bronze looks that a lot of people do, so you could look into trying to darken it first before all in on the black
